Seriously, the oral is over. Let's not go into details and \"dig\" as this will affect the kid's moral and confidence. What is more impt now is to prepare for tomorrow's oral and get them to work at PSLE.

      wise words indeed !

      parents, please note !!

Yes, agree with Pen88n! Best wishes to all..

Just to share feedback from DD2 on today's PSLE 2011 Oral (1st day) on CL:

        Reading passage
Passage about a man who was gloomy and wanted to seek happiness. He went to a village chief who was full of wisdom for help. The village chief told him to build a wooden ship. One month later, he completed the construction of the wooden ship and he went to see the village chief again. Together, both of them set sail on this newly built wooden ship. The village then asked this man about his current state of mind and he replied that he felt very happy. Last statement was something like if you want to be happy then do some work.

        Picture conversation
The setting in the picture was a place where there was a label sign named as \"Students' corner\". There was also a sign saying that no food and drink were allowed. Under the sign for \"Students' corner\" were some bookshelves and something like a table where there were unfinished drinks and food. A student (could not remember whether boy or girl) was reading a book beside this table. In the front of him/her, two girls were sitting on a mat and doing some art & craft work. A pair of scissors was spotted together with some papers. A girl was about to use a rolled-up newspaper and hit her female classmate/schoolmate's shoulder. To the right hand of the picture, there were two boys and 1 girl sitting round a table. The boy and girl were sitting side by side and doing some reading while the other boy sitting at another end was using his laptop. There was an empty seat but this was reserved by someone using his/her schoolbag. There was also a notice board where one notice was hanging with only one pin and the other notice was torn possibly by someone. Finally, there are three pictures hanging on the wall in this setting. All the signs labelled in this setting were in English language.

Talk about an unforgettable small class group activity that you had been involved.

😄 Hi Vanilla Cake & all,
Thank You so much for sharing such a detailed account of the CL oral, my DD said to add on to your summary are...

Reading Passage is easy but tricky. Cos some words found in the passage need to change sheng diao eg: 请教

              Picture Conversation
There were wooden bookcases with closed doors standing in between a closed glass bookcase too. Within the see thru glass bookcase, rows of books are neatly displayed.

:rahrah: Best of luck to all DD & DS for the last leg of PSLE oral tmr! :rahrah:

u mean other schools using it/them for SA1 or prelims orals.....
hmm unlikely...becos usually the teachers will use them for practices....
esp when they can get hold of the CL PSLE booklet which will be avail next yr.....
