      Hi all,

Just want to ask for opinions on whether it is a good idea to bring a 11 month old baby to the US (LA area to be precise) for a holiday in November. My main concerns are the 19 hour flight, the weather, and being cut off from help if anything goes wrong.

      Thanks for the advice 😄

        Nay.

beside what you stated, do factor in jet lag as well. Adults tired, yet still have to handle a cranky infant.

          Nay for me too… …

          Unless you are visiting relatives…
Both adults and baby will be drained and stressed…

With an 11 month old baby, it won’t be a holiday for you. It’s going to be quite cold there in November, and a young child can fall sick easily in such a climate. It’s also going to be difficult for you to enjoy yourself if you want to visit Disneyland or Hollywood.

i dont think it is a good idea it is a bit too far and cold for baby who might not be used to water, food and temperature there.

but if you do plan to go, pls make sure you are able to get a bassinet for baby on the plane. otherwise you will end up carrying the baby in your hand the whole 19 hours.

also should you get stuck in the airport due to snowstorm or whatsoever reason, make sure you have plenty of diapers, drinking water and milk powder and food for baby to last at least a few days.

one thing good is you get unlimited luggage weight for baby if i remember correctly. so you can shop till you drop.

my experience is bring ur parent or parent-in-law together, so can take turn to take care toddlers on plane.

18 hours flight is no joke ....adults need rest.....:)
agreed visiting frd or relative is ok, but if going for tour alone I think below 2 yrs old they are too young to appreciate

It’s possible but it would be better if the child was older. Any reason why you want to travel with the kid now?
