Haha u ppl are so funny... Luckily the school which I PV-ed in has those ad-hoc activities that can clock 4-8 hrs at one go type. Hence can take 1/2 or full day leave and finish 40 hrs within a few times.

Can share what sort of adhoc activities can clock 4-8hrs? So I can also \"try\" to volunteer my service... šŸ˜„

Probably event-based like sch open house, fun fair, celebrations, camps, etc. It depends on the sch though. Some schs may not ask for PV for these events.
Oohhh.. I used to think such events take 1-2hrs only.. Was worried how to clock 40hrs coz the school told me actual PV starts next yr.. šŸ˜„

Sometimes, sch camps may be overnight (and may be help at a campsite outside sch). PVs may be asked to go along to help and also fulfill the student-teacher ratio. If you're lucky to be asked for such activities, and you can make it, you can clock a number of hours at one go.

There are also schools that require PVs for
their excursions/field trips. Usually lasts the
whole half-day within school hours.

Hi autumn82,

Some PVs followed the girls on excursions earlier this year. Took up half a day each time, though not too sure if it applies to all PVs or selected ones.

Hi autumn82,

At Marymount, some PVs followed the girls on excursions earlier this year. Took up half a day each time, though not too sure if it applies to all PVs or selected ones.

There are some PV that go with overseas trip like Malaysia, Taiwan, China etc. Lke that if they go on a fews days you can very fast clock 40 hours.

Good luck & enjoy your PV!

You sure or not? I will be on the alert for \"trouble\" cos some kids when they are out of sch, they become someone else. Some kids are also so protected/sheltered that they don't know how to be a smart traveller (e.g., may \"flaunt\" wealth like handphone and wallet unwittingly, may misplace passport, etc.) šŸ˜“ And teachers may still have to pay for their travel expenses, though at a discounted rate. So this may apply to PVs too.

Where got play? šŸ˜›

More to supervising..
Bring toilet..
Maintain order..

And for me i take pictures..
Loads of them!

Ok lar.. when they're all
engrossed in all the fun
we PVs play a bit oso lah.

But truthfully, quite tiring
to manage bringing out
30-40 children at one go.
Cannot imagine if the
teachers have no help..

But it's fun lah. More fun
than doing traffic duties wor..

šŸ˜‰

Not to mention swift clocking
of the hours. I did mine under
PSG tho... not PV... as my DD
already in the school. šŸ˜‰

The only thing i didn't enjoy was
the bus ride...

well still better than being lollipop man. that is just pure stress (and some satisfaction)

I was surprise to have encountered many irresponsible parents that would

- align their kids in the middle of the road … yes in the middle of a 4 lanes dual carriage road

- stop their cars anywhere and take their own sweet time to align the kids & wave goodbye … totally ignoring the jams they caused and horning behind them
