LOLMum’s sharing reminded me of this incident

DS P1 first day, during recess. DS wanted to buy chicken rice and naturally being I went with him to observe him. There was a P1 girl that queued behind him, she was alone. DS & that girl started chatting about the canteen, food, etc. It was then I realized that she was holding just a 50 cent coin while the chicken rice was 70 or 80 cent a plate. So I gave her a dollar coin.

but ds recently refused to lend $$$ to a classmate to buy drinks because the class was reminded by teacher not to lend $$$ to friends. whoever didnt have $$$$ must approach teacher who will give $$$ to him. apparently this is to avoid disputes between kids over $$$ which had happened before.

😓 told ds it is okay to lend $$$ and reminded him about the boy who wanted to give his $$$ to him but ds is like must listen to teacher......

A little boy in DS K2 class shitted in his pants. Every other child refused to play with him. They said he was dirty. My DS stayed by his side the whole day. Then he explained to me that it was because that boy was very sad that no one wanted to play with him.

My DD was 13. Her EZ Link card was outta money. She needed some change. She must have looked skinny and forlorn because when she asked for some change, a kindly old man gave her change plus $10 and shooed her into the gate. She tried to return the money but he pooh-poohed her attempts and shoo-ed her away.

A little Malay boy was clutching a bag full of library books at the Customer Service counter of the library. He had lost his wallet with $5 in it. He was frantic and forlorn and the customer service staff shoo-ed him away. I gave him $10 and asked him to go home. The CS staff said that it could be a scam. I thought not. Scams are a regular presence around an area. When I asked if the CS staff had seen the boy before, I was told \"No\". I was touched that he was so little and had a love for books and looked so panicky... $5 meant everything to him and little to me. I gave him $10 because my DD had $10 from a total stranger.
Paying it forward. This thread is a warm read and respite from some of the other threads.

A Couple of Months Back, We R on the Way Back from my Gal's Sat Gym Training Class in the Late Afternoon. We R at the Bus Stop outside Catholic High Sch, waiting to transfer to another Bus to our place ....

After some time, a Bus Stopped and to our surprise, the Bus Captain Personally Guide a Visually impaired middle Aged Man down. As we R the Only 2 waiting at the Bus stop, we naturally take over and Guide the Man to the Bench to sit down and Wait for his Bus ....

We strike up a conversation and throughout the wait, Even though he's very Chatty .... He Keep Hanging on to my Arms, I Can Feel that he is Really Nervous ....

My Gal is very Patient, and even though 2 buses going to our place come and Gone, we stayed with him, till his bus arrive ....

We guided him up to the bus .... and Know what? Another Kind hearted uncle Took over from us in the Bus ....

                        Fast Forward to Today ....
Well Today's My Gal's PSLE CL Oral ....

Upon Arriving Home, My Gal come to me beaming ....
She Told me today's CL Oral Conversation is on an act of Kindness you have done before ....
And She Has Related the Incident of assisting the Visually Impaired Uncle in Detail, And Told Me most of Her Classmates were talking about sch visits to Old Folks Home and she is the only one who relate a different act ....

Frankly, I've Forgotten ALL about the Incident. But Today I Realise Small Acts like that do have a strong impression on our young Ones ....

And I'm Happy that .... she apparently has remembered it ....
