Well that’s life. Ups and down along the way. Cleaning the house us really tiring if you are doing it alone. All the best and hope you get use to it. Take care of your health too.

        Hi CWC,

Well, after a few weeks, you’ll get use to it and then it’s ok. The beginning is really bad cos got to clear up the mess left by the maid! Now after maidless for 8 months, I’m quite glad to stress free about maids. These days, maids don’t seem to be willing to work or just don’t complete contract.

          Thanks fifiyeo.
Tho an extra pair of hands does help, it actually feels GOOD to have them out of my way. Dun have to worry about my valuables, dun have to engage in small talk with them or worry about an extra person and importantly, regain my privacy. Happy to be stress free about maids 🕺

            Hey cwc,

By the way, someone recommended me the spin mop and it’s really a good household item to have. Even my younger boy (6+ years) can help me with floor mopping now.

Am very inspired by the discussion here and considering to ‘get rid’ of my maid who gives me ‘face colour’ every time I ask her to do her work faster or when I correct her mistakes.

Does anyone has any freestanding dishwasher recommendation?
Btw, anybody has Europace multi function rice cooker ERJ 18K? Is the fry function good?

Me too, too much cleaning up. And since I normally have to finish cooking dinner early, fried stuff would taste oily and terrible when cold.
Looks like I need to learn more 1-dish (ie. all-in-1/rojak 😉 ) recipe so that I can just dump into pot and stew/boil.

Actually if you have an oven, you can use the oven to fry your food. Simply just add 1 or 2 drops of oil into your marination and place the meat piece by piece on the baking trap. If you want it a bit more crispy, then place the meat on the tray first and add 1 drop of oil on every piece of meat instead of "mass marinating".

It is much healthier because you use minimum oil and easy cleaning as well.

one downside of not having a maid and when dh is not around is when you fall sick, you still have to drag yourself out of bed to prepare meals for kids and clean up................ :gloomy:
