Presidential Election 2011
-
Ok, perhaps tonight I’ll ask my son whose pictures he would like to see hung in his school wall.
-
I took a peep from today’s chinese papers and thought I like TJS’s wife best - looks only har - but then again, a bit too young. Hmm…

concern2:
Is there anyone who's trying to make a choice by looking at his wife?
I thought TKL's wife a bit too... er... glam for my liking...
kinda gives the impression of Imelda Marcos... :siam:
Is it the wife's sister or .... who is it ...with strikingly coloured hair, who usually follows TKL&wife around? I've seen her with TKL's daughter several times over the year (cannot be grandmother, hor?!). -

I cannot stand how her eyes seem to be nearly popping out !!! -

In TOC forum part 2, TCB said something which, I thought, was quite meaningful. He said that ultimately, voter should trust whoever they vote for. If they do not trust any of them, don't vote for them.
If all don't trust, then don't vote? :rotflmao:Busymom:
So of the 4 candidates, the worst choice would be status quo, the others all have pros and cons, so maybe this can be a first step with a not too drastic change, anyway TJS is only 57 yrs old, he has time to simmer down a bit and be more grandfatherly as what many conservative Singaporeans want. I reiterate, conservative is okay, submissive is not. Else, better change back to appointed President and we can ignore all these points. But it is an ELECTED president to protect our reserves and to check on the existing cabinet, so we are not voting for a respectable looking ceremonial figure BUT pls consider what we are actually voting for the new President to do properly the duties as stipulated. - and it is not to be a yes man.
Actually, if you remember well, not many people voted for OTC 18 years ago because he was viewed as an incumbent who might be a yes man as well. His majority win cannot be considered as overwhelming, especially when his opponent at that time was so low profile.
But OTC had shown himself to be independent, notwithstanding where he had come from.
For all we know, TT or TCB could well prove the skeptics wrong. -

so any adjustment to salary? -
Oppsgal:
well, how about \"don't vote, cannot kao-peh (complain). Those who vote can complain\". you think this will be helpful to 'help' pp make a choice?
If all don't trust, then don't vote? :rotflmao: -
ZacK:
same here..Busymom:
I am also worried that if TT wins, there will be a lot of unhappiness on the ground and the country would become more divided as a result.
I have this concern as well :nailbite: -
hquek:
I just think she looks very earnest...overly so.
LOL....I wasn't quite sure how to describe her...but yes, both of you put the right 'words in my mouth'!! :rotflmao: :rotflmao:phankao:
