there was a \"Meeting with Principal in Hong Wen School\" on 15 Aug for all PV.


And we had signed a letter.... that we are awared of the \" no Guarateen of seats\" if PV has completed the 40hrs.... haha!!!!

tentatively, there are est 65 PV... and the Principal has given est numbers in ea phase for next yr registeration lor... est 95 in phase 1 & 2a.... for 2b will be 75.... but the ava seats for 2b will be 58 only.... so ballot is confirmed... but is which distance yah.... me die lor..... 1-2km one.... and just completed the 40hrs ..... have been \"checking\" with the PV whenever doing the PV, 9 out 10 are within 1km.... :yikes: and quite a number @ city view lor....

This year, DS1 brought back a form that had me indicating if I had any child registering this year. If not, I think there was some place to indicate if future got. Maybe that’s how he got the numbers.

Good luck. I think one will still have better chance in 2B than 2C. But no worries, there have been cases where qualified 2Bs disappear and go elsewhere to register. Cross fingers okie?

so why me is asking for alternative here yah… but its too late for PV lor… no choice liao…

For the past 2 years, we saw around 15-20% PV not registering eventhough they had clocked 40hrs. it is still better to try at 2B then 2C.

On the other hand, just have the mindset and take the 40hrs as a form of Community service If you fail to send your child to Hong Wen. It is still a good deed.

Since it is Year of Dragon next year, the number of children will competing for P1 seats will increase; Mr Ngoh was upfront and anticipating issue next year, i suggest you develope a Plan B quickly.

Sigh, I myself is under 1-2 km too. After the meet principal session, kind of "depress" because I just realized the journey to P1 registration is tougher than I thought.

HWS is my 2nd choice. When I saw my 1st choice going for ballot in 2B under 1 km, I freaked out. Immediately activated "Plan B" which is HWS. Sorry I am not saying that HWS is not good or if I do offend any parents, my sincere apology. Now, even the principal is anticipating ballot in 2B next year, I feel my "hardwork" is going down the drain. Now I can empathized Zoe Tay. Hahaha, she clocked 80 hours!!

Since the meeting with principal, I’m been doing my homework all over again. Next year might need to activate Plan C or even D!!

God! My kids’ fate are in your hand now!

Things seem to be getting tougher. But please do always remember that the most impt thing we can do for our kids is not get into the best schools, but rather what we can do for them at home!

Agreed with what hquek wrote. In addition, if there’s a need for balloting knock wood you can still request to be place on waiting list. Applicants do de-register for one reason or another. Chin up.
