I sent my girl to Cherie Hearts (Blk 877, woodlands ave 9) 3 months ago, seemed quite ok, my girl 20+ months that time, the teacher is very patient . I heard they just changed the director. My daughter liked the centre very much.

        Hi everyone,

I am new in this forum. Would appreciate some help on this issue.

My boy is about 2.5 yrs old. I am looking for a pre-school (or playgroup, i very confuse by all these names, my time only K1 K2 šŸ˜„ ) for him in Woodlands. As my wife is not working, we don't require childcare services.

My boy is more comfortable in Chinese as we are Chinese speaking.

I heard MYMCA near Blk 888 is quite good.

        Thanks.

        Alvin

Since you speak Chinese at home, it'll be good to expose him to proper English. Check the centres you have shortlisted (go down physically to observe the teachers interacting with kids, their language use, etc).

Any comments for Smiling Star and Appletree nursery programs?

My boy is in Chiaravalle Montessori House LLP . they are quite good and patient with kids.My son enjoyed his playgroup. However their fees are pretty expensive.

i decided to withdraw him and let him join Kinderland at civi plaza instead.

                        Hi,

Would like to share my experience.

My girl (P1) was in Kinderland Civic Centre Childcare from N1 to K2.
During her last two years there, the standard of teaching (keep changing teachers! :stupid: ) and service dropped tremendously. Luckily, her class teacher were ok and she was
about to graduate, so did not move her out (mainly bcos I like the curriculum). I had to be very on-the-ball keeping tab with her progress everyday!

So if anyone wants to join the Childcare, do drop in personally without prior notice. You may need a couple of visits to see for yourself. If you have \"insiders\" (friends' kids already there) to provide feedback will be best.

Check the teachers' turnover rate - extremely important! Otherwise your child's development will be severly impact. :stupid:

You may rather consider its 3-hour playgroup/Kindergarten section instead. According to my friend who's child switched from Childcare to the
Playgroup, the teachers are better and less turnover.

Strength & Adv. of Kinderland Civic Centre:

                        1. High standard of cleanliness and safety.
                        2. Excellent curriculum (all-rounded)
                        3. Strong Chinese Teachers.
                        4. 90% Chinese children, the remaining foreigners, maybe one Indian/or Malay. (All students have to learn Chinese regardless of race/nationality)

                        5. Maintain strict teacher:student ratio

                        N1/N2 (Nursery Level 1/2), K1/K@ (Kindergarten Level 1/2)
                        N1 (3 yo) -> N2 (4yo) -> K1 (5yo) -> K2 (6yo) šŸ˜„
