I see. Thanks. I wonder if a maid can be banned for suspected extra-curricular activities of the Geylang kind.

You can inform police for suspect case, but must have some evidence to back up your suspect, the police will then investigate.
Btw it is quite a norm for this kind of activities, my maid told me she always see maids went out from their hostel in mid night and back the next morning, those maids will wear spaghetti strip and mini skirts with heavy make up. My colleague also told me her previous maid sneaked out of the house during night, the next day sent back by police coz caught in those activities.

Regarding writing in to MOM to ban your maid from working in SG

Since we are not so sure what scenario can write in to MOM and this LKVM made me crack my head to think of more scenarios, I’ve written in to MOM to clarify, and MOM called me this morning to explain, generally summarise as below:
          1) No fix guidelines on what circumstances can employers write to MOM, but employers are encourage to write in if you think it helps the next employer who might be hiring the same maid
          2) E.g. of cases could be, irresponsible, ill-treating kids, elderly, not good working attitude, stealing, not trust worthy, did not perform duties well etc
          3) Whether MOM take in as record, it will depends on the officer and on case by case senario.
The officer end the call by saying, if you’re not sure, just write in to MOM, MOM encourage all employer to inform MOM of any possible cases, as long as you think it will be helpful to the next employer.

Hope the above clarify your doubts.

Btw, many transfer maids have some sort of history, and this history are normally not informed to the next employer, so I would think we should all inform MOM if you’ve some kind of -ve reason for sending the maid back, if not, what you don’t want will be "sold" to another person.

If we write in, will MOM really "ban" these maids or just humour us by being just a data collector?

Ha, no harm trying right? I do see a worker (not maid) posted on MOM FB recently asking when can he come SG to work again as he's blacklisted by his previous employer.
For me I definitely don't wish anyone to hire my maid who I sent home because of -ve reason.
Btw, some maids do think is not a big deal to be sent back home or agency, they think they can always find another employer.
