Wow :yikes: Science at P1 ???
If you would to introduce your daughter to Science, you can check out Ultimate Science Lower Block...there is also this assessment book by SAP...think the title is 'Learning Science'. There is Book 1 and 2 (I think it's for P1 and P2).
      Thanks for the suggestions

πŸ˜‚ don't be so shocked. Science is just a label, there are many pre-schoolers storybooks that deal with science in their stories, like life-cycle, plants, etc. Even baby books also deal with basics of material like texture heehee

Their kindy exposes them to science and I thought it was a pity to let it go to waste. I want to continue so trying to find references / guides that can give me ideas to build acitivities with them heehee

Hi mummies, just wondering, what reference should I use if I want to introduce my next yr P1 DD1 to science? My science not that fantastic, so would like to have a reference from which I can plan activities. TIA

Let her read young scientist magazines. Very easy to read.

My dd2 has been reading dd1's young scientist magazines since K2

Thanks for the suggestion. Her reading ability is not that good yet, so was thinking hands-on activities rather than reading.

I've been trying to squeeze in some time to introduce my girl in P1 to Science...first topic - Diversity. My son took to Science quite easily but answering those OE questions the 'scientific' way was tough. So I hope to start my gal soon...like characteristics of birds, mammals and insects for eg. Even thinking of teaching her some 'magic' like how white rose can turn bluish.

You are really a dedicated & hardworking mummy! :salute:

Yes, even at K2 my DD2 is learning Science - life cycle of animals & the planting of bean sprouts. Frankly speaking, I qte neglect towards her especially during this CA2 period  ....She picked up e lower guide to read it leisurely but I missed e opportunity to explain further

Oh Yes, got another Assessment book from Pearson πŸ˜‰ - will share with u later as I am using the mobile to access now πŸ˜„

Wow, you're really a KSP addict...using your mobile to access. HaHaHa.
I've stopped buying Science assessment books for the past 6 months. Started SA2 revision early Aug...so it's either lower block or upper block now.

                  Hi Janet,
I got this on Wed Nite - the nite before my DD1 Science CA2 on Thursday πŸ˜‰

The reason I got it because it has the \"simplest\" concept map to read and for DD1 to practise for last minute final revision. DD1  the book - she has finished those topics to be tested in CA2 from those assessment books so thought probably let her do some revision from a new book πŸ˜‰ ...But still I have some doubts with the notes written in it - Ceramic is classified under NATURAL material because it is from the Clay. But if you would look at the \"Frequently Asked Qtns- Lower Block by Janet Sim - she said otherwise :?

Saw another one from the Pearson Educatin website but don think I seen it in Popular yet :scratchhead:

                    Hi Champion,

The only 'pearson' I have is Longman Weekly Science.
Need to find time to get my son to revise 'Electrical Circuits'...it's been a while since he revised for Science.

Think I will go ga-ga when my daughter goes to P3...there are so many new titles in Popular now :faint: Will need your advice on suitable titles for Science (lower block) next year.

Yes, Janet - I have bought that too and DD1 using it weekly πŸ˜„

Think I am also not the \"Electrical Circuits\" person and I will have to leave it to the tuition centre πŸ˜‰
