Don't think you really need to bring anything in addition to the list. haha. Maybe should see what you can eliminate from the list instead.

8. Bowl/Fork/Spoon/cup in case they want to make their own supper/snack
9. Clothes for daily wear/sleep for 5 days
10. Uniforms for 5 days (there's laundry service in boarding)
11. Undergarments enough for 5 days.
12. Socks for 5 days
13. School Shoes
14. Sandals/slippers for wearing around boarding
15. Towels
16. Blanket, if don't like the furry one in boarding room
17. Pillow
18. Shallow rectangular plastic baskets to put inside cupboard so their undergarments and socks are not everywhere on the shelves inside the wardrobe(!!!).
19. Foldable Mesh Laundry holder (for them to put their dirty clothes before laundry) - usually hang this inside one of the wardrobes
20. ..... airfreshener/insecticide - spray plus those freshener-tubs to keep the room smelling fresh.
21. Laptop if needed
22. Musical instruments, if needed
23. School Bag with books/files

How many pairs of shoes should be prepared? Does flip-flop / slippers allowed?[/quote]The boarding sch has a computer lab with specific opening hours. Wi-fi access is only in the dinning hall. Whether required or not, really up to individuals.

flip-flop/slippers/sandals all allowed, but we better make sure the grip is good n non slippery type. No. of sch shoes also depends on individual.

There are pianos at boarding school . There's also a v good piano that you can book. Alternatively you can use the music studios on campus.

Not sure. I have not heard about my son having to book. He doesn't play the piano, but still uses the rooms. I think he just goes and sees what is available - there are a few. Maybe you go by and ask.

I remember there is a fixed no. of items for the free laundry svc- 11 or 17 pcs? Laundry check-in on Mon/Wed/Fri. No undergarments/socks/handkerchief/small items.

My boy has only 2 sets of uniforms (shirt + pants), 1 set of Wed attire (Polo-T + pants) and 2 sets of PE attire. Each week, he washes at least 1 set of uniform and PE attire on his own. Sometimes, he brings back the bath towel home to wash. Pillow/bolster cases/bedsheet are sent to the laundry svc.

I can't remember how many pieces they can send. Should be enough lah. Even though my son washed his own clothes in JH1 boarding, I didn't like his standard of ironing, so told him to pack all his clothes to bring back on Fridays. Usually bedsheets, uniforms and whatever he uses during the week, he would send for laundry service. Whatever is leftover on Friday, he would bring home. I made sure he had like 6 sets of casual wear, and he has 4 sets of uniforms + Polo shirt (don't have extra pants though). Generally enough.

I am okay with my DD using the washing machine but I am not sure if she has the time to do her laundry and iron her school uniforms! At the school tour, the house master also say that the students spend most of the time studying that they don’t have much time for other things.

Are the students required to clean the rooms like mopping the floor?

Yes, they have to clean the rooms. For simplicity....instead of going to the common area to get the mop/pail, I just have them bring the foldable \"broom\" that you put floor cleaner wipes on. But I buy the cheaper brand (school floor!!!!!!). Then I buy more packs for them to do quick cleanup of their tables/chairs, etc, as well. Including glass-cleaner wipes. HAHA. They don't use a lot I think bc always have \"spare\" coming back.
