Yeah thats why a lot of schools now are restricting their PV intake, based on past numbers and estimates. But PV intake is usually about 1-2 years before the registration, so sometimes if the number of 2B applicants suddenly exceeed that the previous years, some PV may still need to ballot. It is a risk u have to take.

I wanted some information about PV in Tanjong Katong Primary School. My daughter is 2007 born and she is a PR. What kind of PV we need to do? I am lil lost. I am new to Singapore as well. Thanks in advance

Hi all, my application for PV for a primary school was turned down and the reason given was due to overwhelming responses. Just wanna checked here with experience parents that can we appeal for it to the school, is there such a process??


Personally I felt that this reason given overwhelming responses is unacceptable, base on what criterial the others are selected. The selection process is not transparent enough.

Any inputs would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

maybe this school very hot, only can accomodate limited PV vacancies. But it’s over subscribed many times, really can’t absorb anymore.

I'm just curious about the selection criterial for it. Simply can't accept the reason for overwhelming response. Seems like not transparent enough..... Dunno why not selected.

Hi dyiow, do you have Plan B?


Not advising you to give up on this school but perhaps you should also start Plan B such as applying to another school for PV to avoid missing deadline.

i agree w dorisp as i was rejected by Rulang pri for PV last year and immediately did a Plan B.

Hi can anyone share on their experience for PV with Ngee Ann Primary School? How’s the PV application process? Are they very selective? Also, if we stay >2km from the school, anyone could advise if it is worth to even PV coz I heard there are balloting for less than 2km? Any advise will be much appreciated.

I do not know of Ngee Ann PV selection.

But for the past years, balloting had only occurred under phase 2C.

PV falls under phase 2B. Phase 2B applicants had been 100% successful in the past years.
