          Hi jacsplace,

          Philippines. πŸ™‚

My daughter is currently studying at a nearby childcare, Tai Pei Childcare Centre. I also found very good reviews on that school in this forum.

Yeah, it will be great if someone can share how P1 is like in Stamford please. I was told by one of the parents that they have only 1 morning session. We will move to a nearby location before the school opening so my daughter will not get stressed by too much traveling.

P1 registration here in Singapore is quite an experience. πŸ™‚

            Hi Thea,

Welcome to Singapore. Yes, I agree with you about the P1 registration πŸ™‚

Yes, it’s a single-session school. The government wants all primary schools to be single session in four years time.

Went for the orientation on Saturday. It was very well done, I am impressed. They explained things simply and clearly. They even did their own comic-style booklet on what the child can expect during their first year in the school.

Stamford uses most of the same textbooks as the school my daughter is in, so I can recycle. Hurray!

Stamford ends 30 minutes later twice a week from 2012. This to accommodate two 20-minute recesses each day.

The first recess is for pupils to eat, the second is for them to relax and play.

The location of Stamford Primary is pretty good. At Victoria Lane, near Bugis MRT station.
