How do we know if the maids really have experience in other countries like Saudi Arabia etc, and are not lying? I guess we can only know when they come, and we can check their passport?

And for work permits, do we usually send it back to MOM on our own, or the agents will take care of them? I’m guessing that if we really want to send the maid back to the countries, then we should go direct to MOM, but what if we want a transfer only?

Yes my agent told me to let her call only after 3 months :yikes: ... initially I was like what... but then she said its her experience.. and well I followed though I was quite tempted to make her call but then resisted.. and well now she kinda ok and dont miss them that much and wait for the monthly call which she makes now...

My agent told me to let her call once she's finished with her chores. 😛 Wah, the first time I let her call, she cried like we were abusing her or something. Hubby and me got a fright cos we could hear her wailing in her room. I felt bad for her but at the same time, I was worried that my neighbours would think that I was beating her or something!

I guess for the next maid, I will also wait longer, before letting her call back. 🤷

very hard to check and verify their past wkg experiences... some of them get new passports before coming here, so u wont even be able to see where they have been before coming here.

think if im not wrong, if u r sending the maid back, u can submit wp back to mom... else, for transfer, give it back to agent to handle... if gg back to home country and u still have an agent, they can also return the wp for you.

yes, it is more scary if they not \"home sick\" and not thinking of their child

hi Anna, how about reminding her about her purpose in coming here to work? that is, to support her 3 children... sometimes, it does help them to settle down more, since the objective and goal is clear. 5 days is indeed still a short time, but if your maid sees the goals, hopefully she will settle down soon.

today is my hubby on leave to train her. My hubby said she is slow and not smart (stupid lor), she needs lots of training and reminder. But i can see got a little (really a little) improvement. I worry "stone" is "stone" then headache lor!

When my hubby and i at home, my one year old boy will cling on us and refuse to let the maid carry him. However, my nanny and housemate told me that my son is ok with her, they can play together and let her carry. How your think? she got hope or not? don forget she already been here for 1 mth, should be able to catch up lots of things already. (still cannot cook well, housework ok). When i asked her what do she eat for lunch, then she think and think and said cannot remember. then my hubby said chicken rice lor, she seem like "don believe" she was having chicken rice for lunch, then she said she really cannot remember as she focus on her work and worry she cannot meet our expectation and transfer her again. I really don know whether i should be patient to her or hard to her, cannot find the balance point.

                        Hi Anna,

When she tells you of her kids, remind her of the money she is earning for them. That’s what I keep telling mine - they don’t have kids, but they have family. I’ll feed them dreams about the land/machinery their money can buy when they go back home.

                        What to do?
