      chamonix:
Unlike most arts classes, Kids Art's main focus is on the fundamentals basics of drawing instead of creativity. The kids are taught pencil shading, lines, tones and perspective. And some of the teachers are really great. When my 4 year old got bored with just drawing straight lines, her teacher taught her to a new way to practise drawing straight lines. And this is the drawing she did a couple of weeks ago.

Heyya chamonix, great review here of Kids Art! I love it!
I agree with you, if it's just based on children's creativity
it's like an open ended question and no specific time as
to when exactly the child is considered good in art.

With Kids Art systematic lesson plan, parents can observe
when the children work up their skills periodically and we
will know if there are obvious improvements to their
      drawing/painting skills.

I am interested to give my girls a chance to try out Kids
Art. Can you share the centre's rates as well?

        Hi buds,

It's nice to find someone who shares the same view.

For the fees, it's $60 for registration (comes with a Kids Art T-shirt, crayons and paint sets) and $90 for every 4 (1.5hrs) lessons. If you can, bring your girls down to the Bukit Timah Branch on either Tuesday or Sunday, Teacher Kasey will be there. There's a free carrot trial for the kids. (Not eating the carrot  but colouring it.) The kids will be asked to colour a carrot using crayons. Try it and they will learn how they can improve their work easily.

        Have fun!

            hi foreverj,

            Here's the website - http://kidsart.com.sg/Programs.htm .

Kids Art is located on the second floor in Bt Timah Plaza. Art Zone is just nearby. So, be sure to look out for the correct school. Currently Kids Art is sharing the premise with a Chinese Language School (it is moving out soon) and is nearer to CS montessori.

Try talking to the teacher to understand if the programme is a good fit for your child. And the works on the walls will also give you an idea what the kids do in the Bridge Program. 😄

PS: There's also another bigger branch at Tiong Bahru.

seems like many moms here are on the lookout for good art class. Keen to have your darlings acquainted with drawing and colouring techniques?!

My grls been at NaFa arts for 4 yrs now, shes now in p3. I dont know what benefits can i achieve from her being there as art does not add extra marks now n when she gets to p6, Im contemplating on stopping her, some say Nafa cert. help add points to her score should she decide on a good secondary school. Can anyone advise the benefits of art classes for PSlE

My impression is arts stimulate creativity.
Not aware that it can add points during PSLE.
