Interesting. Can share what your son is learning in school, eg. readers that his school is using? We are not in Singapore now. Relying on berries readers and storybooks to teach my girl. Hopefully, she wonโ€™t get a shock when she starts P1 next year.

          WCW:
Tot the grid lines is help the child know where the strokes are? Sort of like a guide? If big square one, will they write big n small n uneven size?

i search for DS's writing book (usage in N2) last night & saw that indeed, he used the 3x3 boxes to write... but also terrible lah... ๐Ÿ˜‚

the strokes also over-lapped one another... dian become na; shu become pia.... dunno which is which also.. then if shu gou become the letter V... :yikes:

nw in K2, he writes only on given lines...

and DD, she practices using the normal square boxes.... still manageable lah... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sorry to confuse u. It is his Chinese enrichment class. They dnt use any readers. The founder of the place came out with their own materials. Plus ds speaks mandarin fr young n he likes mandarin alot n v interested in learning mandarin. His fav teacher in schl happen to be his mandarin teacher so he's v eager to learn.

Great job! Keep the interest going! :rahrah:

Very unlikely. P1 should be having HYPN and simple characters for ๅฌๅ†™ in the first semesterใ€‚Complete sentences will probably come in second semester, depending on schools.

                Hi dorisp,

I have no idea when ้ป˜ๅ†™ starts...Son started in P3 (he's in average class)...those in the top 3 classes started ้ป˜ๅ†™ in P2. I am hoping my daughter doesn't have ้ป˜ๅ†™ at least until P2 Term 3.
We are still struggling with ็œ‹ๅ›พๅ†™ๅฅ.
