One RGS parent shared with me her concerns on the teaching of maths and sciences in RGS. She felt that it seems like a touch-and-go kind of teaching and she is worried that her dd’s foundation in these subjects may be compromised.

Do you feel that way or is that the norm in IP schools now?

Hi All, I am new here, my dd just received the official confirmation letter for RGS DSA offer. It stated that she is also admitted into the Talent Development Programme (GEP), does anyone here also have similar offer for their dds who are also successfully admitted through DSA. (This dancing sheep is my dd's idea.) What is the TDP (GEP)?

Hi, my DD was in RA for 2 subjects. I think it would help a lot if she usually reads widely in her subjects of interest. If it is Science that yr DD is keen on and she wants to study to prepare, then perhaps reading up A level textbooks may be helpful. Hope this helps your DD. All the Best!

My dd is in RA for a Sci subject now, back in RGS was a different Sci and Maths. There's no direct \"promotion\" to the RA class in JC, one has to take the RA selection tests again, this time there would be the RI boys and students who entered with O level results to compete with. A number of girls who were in RGS RA did not get selected. And for Physics heard that it's almost all boys. If I'm not wrong, they are not encouraged to take 2 RA subjects, too taxing.

There should be more girls in the Chemistry and Biology RA classes. I guess it would be too taxing to take 2 RA subjects as a lot of reading is needed.
