In all the 6 years my daughter has been in school, she has had classmates leave and others join, primarily due to children leaving with parents overseas. So do put your child on the waiting list early.

A note of caution though. Many things have changed in SCGS in the past few years. So it might not be accurate to look at past practices any more. One of the first things to go was accepting all old girls into Express, hence the new raising of the cut-off point, which has caused much unhappiness amongst parents.

        Hi,

Will there be a buddy system to guide the new P1 students?
Like maybe a P5 or P6 student guiding them around during recess, etc?

          Melodies:
          Hi Courage,

In addition to the confirmation slip stating the P1 orientation date & time, did you receive any formal invitation letter from school for the P1 orientation on 21 Nov 2009?

On the 2C balloting day, I thought I heard from the school that the school will send letter for the P1 orientation.....
I am looking forward to receiving the letter but have yet to school....
Melodies, may have to call the school to check. For phase 1, the older sibling will be the 'messenger', any letter from the school is passed to me thru' my dd1. At the moment, I only have the pink confirmation slip.

The school may be able to provide the details. Although on orientation day, the respective operators for each area will all be at the school too.

                  hi,

I am so delighted to hear that there is a chance to get in at least at p2! Thats really good to hear! But I guess, you spent a lot paying for the tests right? And, what kind of papers did they give? SA2 kind?
                  Hi,
I am new to this forum. Just joined a couple of hours ago. My daughters will be sitting for the Admission exam on 23/10 to enter P4 in 2010. They will be sitting for English, Chinese & Maths papers and I do not know if they will be doing the SCGS SA2 papers. As for English & Chinese, they have to do Compo & Comprehension as mentioned by \"Mandarin\". There are 2 admission exams in a year i.e. Apr/May and Oct. Each sitting is $25 for Citizen. I would suggest to \"Little Princess\" to submit your application for your daughter to sit for the exam in the Apr/May 2010. I was told that the English in SCGS is 1 grade higher than normal school. Hence if your daughter is P1, she will be doing P2s English in SCGS. For the purpose of this Admission Exam, I have engaged an ex school teacher to tutor my daughters just for English. After sitting the paper exam, there will be an interview session. I will share with you (if you are interested) once the admission exam is over. The SCGS website has very clear instruction for the Admission Exam.

My girl has passed the first GEP exam…

In P4, will all the GEPs (passed the first round/2nd round but does not want to go to GEP schools) be placed in a special class. Can someone advise please?
