2012 PSLE Discussions and Strategy

Talking about stiffer competition for kids born in the year of dragon. When they first entered p1, moe increases the intake in the primary schools to cater for them. Will moe do the same for sec 1 comes their turn? I am just curious if the independent schools will increase their sec 1 intake? Not sure how independent they can be in setting the intake number.

It is important to know why there is lack of motivation. (a) For some it is because they cannot do some subject well. If they are good at something, they want to do it more. If they find it difficult, they give up. One way is to be selective with assessments questions, going for questions that are easy, and gradually increase the diffculty level. (b) For others, it might be because his friends don't study. It is not cool to study. (c) Too little pressure from parents (d) Too much pressure from parents (e) etc.
I also suggest reading the book \"PSLE Survival Guide for the Family\". It is about a mischievous (a not really motivated) kid taking PSLE. It uses very simple English. Try reading it as a family. This is much cheaper than those motivational camps. Being a book, you can read it several times over several months. Perhaps, this can bring a sustained impact with little cost.
Thanks! Will go pick up a copy. -

Otah,
According to some who attended Adam khoo, the inspiration only last them a short while, they will soon be back to square again.
arrr, thats the whole idea, isn't it ? If you only come for one session, and whole person changed to fully motivated, then who will buy the longterm courses ? need continuous coaching ma, else how to earn yr :moneyflies: :moneyflies: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
it's all opportunity earnings la. Too many people want quick fix, that's where opportunities open themselves to the alert and errrr motivated.
:siam:
These courses are like modern medicine - helps you short term, but does not fully cure you. Better for the child to read a good motivational book and convinced himself. -

I am looking to collate TOP school-developed Chinese Language oral materials. The materials I am interested in are specifically…
(1) Pictures
(2) Picture description model answer scripts
(3) Chinese dialogue model answer scripts
If your child is attending a TOP school and you are interested in getting OTHER top schools’ materials, would you kindly PM me? I will arrange to give all successful contributors a full set of the materials free.
I will be requesting for an emailed photo/scan of an excerpt/partial picture from the scripts you propose to contribute. This will allow me to evaluate the material for the standard and quality I am looking for. This is because I have gone through a few schools’ materials and realise that not all schools produce the same high quality.
Once I have compiled a set of high quality Chinese oral materials from 5 top schools, I will start a thread in product offerings to retail these materials. I don’t want to have to photocopy materials for everyone, free. At the same time, I will post the list of the contributors who will each have a full set of the materials… and you can approach anyone of them as well. If they are willing to give free, then good for you.
I don’t know if this initiative will result in anything… but I will keep the community posted of its progress. -
it is possible to offer this oral collection free to all parents by uploading it somewhere?
And upfront inform the contributors that the info will be shared.
If the materials are foe retail, then there will be pricing issue and where the money goes too… -

After a while, someone else in the community will upload it or offer to do so. I'm ok with that. Many of the materials will not be contributed in soft copy. Someone will need to scan and upload. As for pricing, I don't see a problem. I will price it like other people price top school exams. As for where the money goes, it will come to me (or whichever of the 5 other contributors whom you choose to ask) because I have to drive to the photocopy shop (time and petrol) and I was the one who took the initiative to collate and all. I don't expect the 5 contributors and myself to that free for everyone. Hope you understand. -
I only have P5 oral notes, is it ok?

Is ok... P5 or P6 doesn't matter. If they are conversation and picture description scripts, is fine. PM me can? I will need a photo of a picture or part thereof and an excerpt of the picture description via email. -

How's the collation so far?

I can help to collate, scan in & upload for free.
Parents can print out on their own when they want it.
