Hi piggylalala,

After getting the 2 FAQs (upper/lower), I am not getting anymore Science assessment/guide books for the rest of P5. Will be checking out past year school exams from now.

Thank you for recommending the science assessment books in this thread. I am just wondering whether should i buy the FAQ( lower block) for my son as I already have 2 other books witten by the same author.

FAQs are different because these reference books provide answers to frequently asked questions...can't run away from these questions. But the lower block doesn't have much info on Maglev trains (under 'magnets').
Thanks. I think i will consider buying then. Hope there is still discount on the book.

Hi all,

I’m just asking for opinion, besides doing these assessment books, does your child/children still attend any science enrichment classes ? DS is in P3, and so far, I bought him the Ultimate Science Guide, so far its OK, but intending to buy the above recomended ones.

I’ve not look through the primary science curriculum. Is it possible to conduct the experiments at home? TIA

No science enrichment class. Hope to handle Maths and science ourselves all the way to P6. :xedfingers:

Hi Champion,

Are you referring to this?

I have the above set.
It covers basic questions as compared to Learning Science and Process Skills (which covers more 'thinking' questions). I used it to introduce new topics to my child by going through the notes preceding the worksheets and going through the worksheets with him.
Hi teh_oh,
Nice to \"see\" you and thank you for your sharing; appreciates much! :hugs:

A dear friend whose girl is in P2 this year is starting to sources for Science guide books πŸ˜‰ ..So, me being \"kapoh\" share with her what I have and happen I do not have the above which she is planning to buy.

I will drop by at Popular on weekend and probably take a look at the browsing copy again! [hope I won't be \"tempted\" to get a copy myself :xedfingers: :siam: ]

hi champion,
Seems like I have different views from your dd. πŸ™‚ I found the 2nd book a easier book as in each worksheet is only of 2 pages and with some fill in the blanks questions too. I always ask my son to work on these worksheets first before attempting other assessment books.

As for the 2nd book, my son only did the chapter on human systems. Questions are quite ok ( as in he can do most of the sums ) - not too sure is it because the questions are similar to that of the first book ( since same author )

Each chapter in the book comes with notes and 3 exercises. Exercise 1 ( recall and basic process skills questions. ) Ex 2 ( integrated process questions ) and Ex 3 ( application question ) one question only.

Maybe you can take a look at the book in popular and compare with the FAQ ( lower block) by Janet Sim too. I am thinking that there is no need to get so many books by the same author as the questions may be repetitive.
Hi Piggylalala,
Thank you so much for your sharing; really appreciates much! :snuggles: :hugs:

Yea, I have the FAQ by Janet Sim and not intend to get anymore ( :xedfingers: I hope I can control! πŸ˜‰ ).....

The books cost about $15++!
Hi sista Brenda,
WOW! That is really ex lor! I have the FAQ by Janet Sim (Lower Block) so will not be getting others...( :xedfingers: I hope I can control my buying power! πŸ˜† )

Champion,

As long as there's no better guides or assessment book, you will be able to control right? πŸ˜‰
