actually the top of the white blouse is double layer, and for calligraphy, they have apron - just for the calligraphy !!
But my dd's friend succeeded in getting indelible calligraphy ink all over her blouse and skirt. Don't know whether she was using apron or not.jtoh:
I wonder why NYGH must have their uniform sleeveless and the entire uniform in white. Not too practical for girls as they may tend to stain their skirts during their monthly cycle. For the top, white and sleeveless some more. See through never mind, still can peep in. :slapshead:
Could it be their heritage? I think there are a couple of Chinese schools which have all white uniforms too right? All-white is very impractical. Especially after a Chinese calligraphy class.
I have friends who decided not to send their girls to NYGH because of the uniform.

whats so obscene?boys look fine in tight fitting shorts,at least better than girls.besides theyre only p6.knee length abit too long.half or 3/4 knee length is fine.yah we should do away with long pants, due to the weatherActually it's true that these days the boys no longer wear short shorts to school (i remembered those days when i saw my pri school classmates wearing tight & fitting shorts in P6 - cos last year of school, parents don't wanna invest in new set - quite obscene! )
These days i see some boys wearing bermudas-style school shorts (not baggy but straight-cut bermudas (knee-length)) - Saw some ACS & St Stephen's boys wearing it - I thought it looked kinda nice .. Beats super short shorts and long pants (think: weather) big time!
But back to the topic of best school uniform...
I like Cedar Girls' Uniform best
And yes.. the prefects get to wear black shoes in Cedar.. I'm one of those guilty of not having to wash my shoes 365days hehehehe :rotflmao: -

Hi jtoh, sorry, haven't been checking this thread! Well, as the story goes, my PSLE results were good enough to go to NYGH, but my mum said don't go to SAP school - very stressful, pressurizing. Then my sisters said don't go to SCGS, because the uniform is sleeveless. Then I didn't go to RGS as I ended up choosing CGS (Crescent Girls' School) because all my sisters and cousins (female) asked me to as they all went to that school (I was the youngest) ..... ha ha.... at least CGS's uniform is just as nice as CGSS (Cedar Girls Sec Sch)!!!
Yes, it seems rather silly to choose a school based on uniform, doesn't it?
So which school did you go to in the end?

That's funny.

Cedar and Crescent's uniforms are both shirt with pleated skirt right? Except Cedar's has a tie?
-
Just wondering,
for lower primary school, in general, how many days in a week that a child is required to wear PE attire to school? -
jtoh:
Yeah, and prefects at Crescent wear tie...
That's funny.

Cedar skirt is more A-line, while Crescent skirt is pleated n more flare. I remember my sister worked really hard to be chosen as a prefect in sec 3 cos she wanted to wear a tie, just like me :).... We once thought of exchanging tie for a one day, but no guts to act it out cos both our schools had super fierce discipline mistresses :yikes: -
hehe i guess girls would enjoy having sleeveless uniform, while boys would like having shorts for all 4(or 6) years.i especially like the RV style of boy’s uniform.
