Somehow I have the nagging suspicion that this thread is a thinly veiled attempt to advertise Music Workshop.

Most definitely not. If you have search for other postings by me, you would have realize that I am a private piano teacher cum book author. And I am not affiliated to any music schools in any way.

I see. Are you the same dreamaurora who posts in abrsm forum?

I’ve read through your postings in abrsm forum. So, mr Charles Wu, you claimed that you have a pair of 6 years old who passed grade 5 with distinctions. Is there any proof that this is true? How come there is no news of it in our local media, i would think our media is quick in picking up this kind of story? Unless you can verify this, i highly doubt your credibility as a teacher.

For a new poster, you sure ask a lot. Fine, below you can see a screenshot of their online result. I do not wish to reveal this yet but you leave me no choice.

And below is a video of one of them playing 2 months ago. Not her best playing though, still have plenty of rough edges, but you can roughly see her skill level.

I hope this satisfy your curiosity. As to why media has not picked this up, I guess they may not be the first ones to achieve this according to ABRSM. But hard to say, since when you register students, you do not specify their ages.

Okay, reuploaded the picture (the first one too blurry and I accidentally covers the the number 5) and you can just click on the link to view the youtube video. To sacredmusicals, I can verify this is true and if there is any doubt, you can call ABRSM office to verify it.

Okay, okay, if the result is not fabricated then congratulations to you. But still, I don't think this is remarkable. Any teacher would have been able to achieve the same result as you.

I hope you are not serious with what you just said. Because I don't want parents and students to march immediately tomorrow to their teachers' studios and start demanding to jump grades since 'any teacher would have been able to achieve the same result'.

Anyway, the children's result is a result of a complete synergy between teacher, parents, and students. All parties involved here played an equal part in preparing for the exam and the credit should be shared equally between all. In any case, if you have any more issues to raise with me, please continue it through PMs. I started this thread not for the purpose of arguing with you. I still plan to write the paper though and welcome further contributions to this thread.
