      jccmum:
      Hi

Did anyone attend the meeting on 29 August? I have missed it as we only open the post box on sunday. :stupid: Can anyone who attended please let me know what is covered during the meeting? :?:

      Thank you
      πŸ˜„
      Hi jccmum,

i did not attend too cos' kids got some enrichment classes on Sat. However I had spoke to the sch admin mgr Mrs. Ong. According to her, it's for parents who wish to volunteer their time to the sch. If you wish to, you may still contact the sch so it's ok if you missed it.

      Rdgs,
      melloh

            Hi Rainbows,

what attract us to North Vista Pri are:
            1) Sngle-session. Sch starts at 8am. The students & teacher will have circle time from 8am to 8.30am before lesson begins.
            2) interesting teaching approach
            3) brand new. the classrooms look very attractive.
            4) my kids like the school

I think you should pay a visit to the school and get to know it more before you decide which school to register. For Nan Chiau Pri & Rivervale Pri, even if you stay within one km you might not be able to go in. Maybe if you do volunteer work at Rivervale Pri then that might be possible.

            Good luck! πŸ˜„

            Best regards,
            melloh88

                Hi

Well on top of that, I hear this school teaching model is not those grilling type, but instead it allow the kid to explore his or her ability and develop from there. I have attended their orientation programme before the registration, and it look interesting to me. I dun want my kid to undergo very stressful school life in her early age. Also, this school has a student care within their compound, thus I will feel more secure to have my kid attending the student care after their usual school hour and I dont have to worry that she willstart to pickup or learn bad thing when she has the freedom to roam around outside the school compound.

Hope this is useful information for u.

                Cheer.

                  Hi

Sounds like we have another happy parent whose child is happily attending this sch πŸ˜„

Just a thot. :? the teaching method seems to be unique to its kind. would it affect the academic of the child? pardon me for saying, cos i've been brought up with the thot lots of drilling and studying gives 'good future'. Would the child be able to fare well in PSLE?

pls pardon me if i'm asking a silly question

                    Hi Rainbow

Initially I do have alot of ??? whether my kid can pass her PSLE examination when she is in Primary Six. But honestly speaking, when I walked pass some of the classrooms, I find that their teacher is using latest IT technology to arouse the kid’s interest to answer those maths question. In my younger days, we only have chalk and blackboard to answer those question, and the kids seem very eager to raise up their hand to go to the projection screen to answer. It is a new school, and I actually didnt expect that quite a lot of parent actually enrolled their kids into this school. We have to give them a chance to see how they progress from there. Currently their highest garde student is in Primary Four if I am not wrong, so nobody would know about this teaching methodology is right or wrong till two years later when their first batch of PSLE result is out. It is good to learnt from their principle that everyday is a test for them, the moment they are hand-on, they are being tested with each task even without the kid knowing for herself or himself. Thus, as a parent, I will feel more relax as I need not oversee their daily schoolwork and also not worrying about forcing my kid to have those kind of stressful schoolwork in my days.

We ought to give this new school a chance…

The only problem that I still facing now is how to solve my problem on fetching the kid from the student care hours which end at 7pm. Dun think I can make it to fetch my kid from the student care before 7pm dur to work commitment. Sigh.

                      Dear Happyfather

Thanks for identifying with me on my concerns on psle results πŸ˜‰ it really helps to know that i'm not alone having this thots πŸ˜‰

was thinking on being intime on picking up your kid from the student care, how about having your neighbour to help? maybe paying them a small sum of $, just picking your kid up and letting him/her having her meal till you are back to pick.

and yes! i have good news to share πŸ˜„

i finally bought my house near seng kang mrt. now wondering am i within the 1km or 2km? i'm at the 2xx series flat. for this year, wondering was there any ballet for within 2km?

really appreciate all your thots, comments, opinions,etc..

                      happy holidays :celebrate:

                        Hi Rainbow

If u are staying at Blk 2XX, then it should be within the 2 km limit, otherwise you can locate the map to see how far is yr block from North Vista School.

                        Cheer.
