Not too sure about which type of Chinese dance handkerchief, but you can try costume connection. The prices are reasonable.

NAFA also offers classes in classical ballet and chinese dance. My CC (Dover CC) also offers balet and chinese dance (different teachers, different days). Perhaps you can check out your CC too. I think lots of CCs offer ballet, and some offer chinese dance too.
Does anyone know I can buy chinese dance handkerchifs from, in Singapore? I'd rather not order online. -

wow... no nid NAFA lah.... i think for nw... normal classes @ those CC will do... i used to learn chinese dance at TPCC too, but our ahem... dance troupe was under a certain chinese clan ; we only used the room for weekly lessons.
Think it's K1 in NAFA ....poppy15:

If Young Age Join the Class, No Need Audition.
If Join Later, say Upper Pri, May Need to audition to see which Grade match to Skill level of the Kid ....
need to check with D, maybe next yr, to see if she is interested in chinese dance lessons.
Thanks sista Funx3 for the info...

But The T Do Push Hard for the Gals to do Splits, etc

The Hard Part Comes when My Gal Sign up for YEar End Performance ....
And the Dance Rehersals will be Something like everyday for Term 1 / 3 Hols, and 10 days for Term 2 Hols, and for a Week after sch prior to performance ....
And For Exam, Don't Need to Worry, the T Will Know if our Gal is Up to Exam Std, and will Recommend and Drill them to Exam Std During Class ....
So Far My Gal Never Have Extra Classes for Exam Preparation, Just Go for the Once a Week Class Will Do ....
As For OT ....
Maybe We Could Request Mod to shift the last few posts to Chinese Dance Thread ....
Or Ballet Vs Chinese Dance Thread ....

I need advise desperately. My DD is now in Grade 5 ballet (CSTD). I realised that the ballet school & teacher is not helping the students to get exposure and increasing the standard of Dance. Students are just like going for class every week and the teacher never stress on the discipline of ballet. e.g hair not bun up… I’m thinking of switching her to RAD class in another school (difficult to find school with CSTD syallbus)but she will need to be down one grade. DD will be in Grade 6 next year which is the last grade for CSTD so worried that it may be a waste to switch to RAD. Anyone can give advise on that? Any good ballet school to recommend if she wish to switch? Thanks very much.

Does your DD enjoy going for ballet class now? Is technical rigour something she wants? What does she hope to make out of her dancing activity? Does she wish to pursue it professionally or at least at a high level? These are all questions you need to answer before you decide what is best to be done.
If she is indeed that interested in ballet, grade is the last thing you should be worried about. Unless of course she’s wishing to DSA through ballet or use it to attain certain things. Personally I have switched in and out of RAD, doing syllabus and non syllabus classes as I get bored of syllabus classes pretty fast. But I’m only dancing recreationally, so it might be a different case. -
Don’t view it as a switch down. CSTD grades are generally a grade lower than RAD, so if she’s CSTD Grade 5 and moving over to RAD Grade 4, it’s more of a lateral move. How old is your dd? I would move her to a teacher who’s more into discipline and is able to improve her technique and performance. Call me old-school but I really don’t like seeing untidy buns, tights and dirty shoes in class. Also look into when you’ll be making the switch because teachers don’t like to take in new students when they’re busy preparing their class for exams. You might also want to have your dd complete her grade before switching if the exams are soon.
