      Yong HL:
i guess teachers words are more impactful than parents.. dunno why my girl can remember the things her JEI maths teachers taught more than me also :scratchhead:

I agree with your Yong HL,...your dd is attending the one at AMK. Good? and which teacher is teaching your dd may I know? πŸ˜„

                Yong HL:

Guess most maths classes, including JEI maths do highlight to kids how to minimise careless mistakes eg draw models properly, write numbers in the right place etc etc so wont get mixed up πŸ™‚

I also do remind my dd le..but still have the same mistake.. :imconstipated: ....got to beat her pigu liao...

Not so long ago, JEI MP was distributing out a compilation of common careless mistakes. What you mentioned about copying wrong figures is in the list. That would also imply that such mistakes must be very common.

Personally, I feel that carelessness has to do with a child overall awareness of things around them. My DS was very blur when he was much younger. He has little awareness of things around him (except able to identify Macdonald \"M\" sign even from a far distance). Lost his water bottles, pencils, ruler, pencil box, books , you name it, he would have lost it before. Not suprisingly, he is a super careless student in his work. Whereas my DD is better.

Anyway, now my DS in P6. He has in a way matured slightly and is more concious. Still careless but not ridiculously careless anymore. At least, he now put in an effort to apply the methods taught by JEI tutor to minimise silly mistakes.

Mummies, have faith in your little ones, they will grow up and their awareness of things around them will improve which will translate to less silly mistakes. :xedfingers:

                Lets pray LOL πŸ™
