For P4, it's definitely worth while buying the whole set because your daughter will be tested for everything (under Lower Block). It's expensive and time-consuming printing school by school.

      Janet,
thank you so much for your always readily available time to post in this thread; appreciates much! :hugs:

      Hi Champion,
I think I can rely on parents here more than Science teacher in school :hi5: ...cannot depend on school to pass. Buying assessment books can be such a headache even though there are so many titles in the market.

Brenda has provided me valuable tips esp since her daughter is in P6. Next year, I will need her experience to cope with my own kid going for PSLE.

        Hi Champion,

From our CA2 experience, Magnets is an easier topic compared to diversity because it only revolves around properties of the magnet (aka magnetism). For our CA2 preparation, besides going through some of the P3 past year papers which have Magnets topic, we focused mainly on assessment books' Magnet chapter. We felt that the questions in Learning Science, Conquer Science (they had some error in their MCQ questions) and Conquer Process skills are sufficient to cover most Magnet questions in P3. What is tricky, will be the answering technique for OE, which we feel that assessment books offer better answers than past year papers.

        Hi teh_oh! :hugs:
So glad to see you online and thank you very much for your sharing; appreciates much! :celebrate:

Ok, I shall target those assessment books that you mentioned above and hope me this sotong mummy will be able to help to coach DD1 😉 . Can't rely on school teacher much after what happened in CA2 (Science T has not even covered the topic to be tested the week before CA2 and was still teaching on the CA2 week! :frustrated: )

        Hi Champion,
        You are welcome.
One of the question in Process skills for Magnets came out in my child's paper. While I feel that his answer is good enough, he still lost half a mark for that 2 mark question. It is about 'levitating' ring magnets.
Reading up Ultimate Guide's experiments for Magnets also helps.

Once again - thank you very much for your sharing; will take note of the above pointers while doing the revision with DD1! :celebrate:

              Hi Teh_oh/Champion,

I just finished copying out the answer for a CA2 paper…question was on magnets - explain why a magnet can ‘float’ on top of another. This question is a frequently asked one. Part 2 of the question is on Maglev train. If you are keen to get the answer, it’s found in Nan Hua CA2 2010 (P5).

No worries...it so happened I read teh_oh's post about 'levitating' ring magnets...this applies to how Maglev train works.

Got my copies from Popular at $2.50 each.
