I heard from my dd that some parents expect their kids to achieve 85% even for common test. eg. the kid for scored like 34/40 for english and maths etc.

Otherwise their parents would scold them and some kids dun even dare to get the parents to sign the CT paper.

Sigh! Being in GE is already quite tough and the kid needs to take the stress from their parents.

Heard one kid only asks her mom to sign her math common test paper on the last day of the september school holiday before term4 start. Probably doesn’t want her mom to scold her and gives her tonnes of math hw. The paper might not seems very difficult but to finish it within 1 and 15 min might be a challenge to some kids. So must try to understand.

oh! Also another ge mum told her younger dd to perform better than her jie jie.

And if she scored lower marks than her jie jie she would be in hot soup. Cos her mum will be very upset with her.

            .

Am I right to say that this girl is in gep while her jie jie is not? If that is the case, poor kid, must be very stressful, don’t know whether the jie jie will feel demoralised if mei mei had to do better than her.

now I really don’t understand this mom. why must younger dd perform better than jie jie. Sometimes I wonder how parents can produce two gifted kids. It is interesting to know.
