      Hi,

Iโ€™m new to this forum/thread, would like to hear from parents/staff whether the noise from the nearby MRT track & main road cause any problem to the students ? Do the teachers and students have to speak louder than normal ? And are there a lot of disruptions due to the noise ?
      Thanks in advance.

        Hi M-M,

Welcome to the TGPS thread and a very interesting question that you had posted. From a parent perspective, i have no major complain of such \"noise\" from my 2 children whom are studying in the school. Beside TGPS, there are few other schools located along the MRT track and so if the \"noise\" level is too high, i believe the schools will surely feedback to SMRT.

Hope this helps and will try to find out more on this topic from the school. Btw, is your child joining the TGPS Family soon? ๐Ÿ˜„

        Regards,
        Astee

Thanks for your prompt reply, Astee. ๐Ÿ˜„

My daughter is 3 yrs old, intends to send her there. I also have a neighbour who is interested to send her 5 yrs old son there and share similar concerns.
          Cheers !

            Hi M-M,

Always a pleasure to share. Yes, there are few other parents on this forum whose child is of same age group as yours. Good to see all the parents doing forward planning. ๐Ÿ˜„

Feel free to raise any other area of concerns that you and your neighbour may have, i will be happy to check with the schools, because i believe we all share the same thoughts too... :goodpost:

            Have a good weekend.

              Hi M-M,

Welcome to the forum. My boy is in P1 this year. I have not heard him complaining about the nise from MRT. Hence I think it should not be a problem for the students.

              Hi Astee,
I have not read this forum for a while. Glad to see more new parents joining us. Looks like TGPS is gaining popularity ๐Ÿ™‚

This is the last month of term 3. Coincidently there are quite a number of long weekend this month. Good for the kids to have some spare time preparing for the test next week. Do you know if the school will require the kids to study at home this Friday and Thursday? Also heard from a friend that her daughterโ€™s school has the kids going to school in the afternoon during the PSLE test period in September. Do you know if TGPS does that as well? That will be a headache for me as I works in the morning when both my kids are in school. If DS going to be at home in the morning, will need to find someone to look after him :-(. Good to know it in advance so that I can plan and make arrangement for it.

                Hi Rejoice,

Nice to \"hear\" you online again..:)

From my previous experienced, the school does not asked the children to return to school in the afternoon for lesson. Usually school will give more homeworks during the few days of closure. Also may be doing E Learning via the AskNLearn website. So watch out for the notice in your DS bag.

Yes, it will be good to pre-arrange someone to be available during the few days to look after your children.

                Some of school closure dates:

                18 - 19 Aug - PSLE
29 Aug - Close due to PE
                Sep 1 - Parents-Teacher-conference
                Sep 2 - Teachers Day

                Regards,
                Astee

                  Hi Astee,

Thanks for the info. That is good to know that they are not required to go back school in the PM. I can arrange for my boy to follow me to work in the morning. But if need to settle him for lunch and rush him back to school, that will be too challenging for us as DS is a super slow eater :-).

Thanks for the school closure info. Will plan to get him to do some work or some play during the holiday :-).

                    Hi all,

It's been a while since we last chat and hope all the kiddos had enjoyed their one week holiday. I know mine did... :boogie:

This is the final term and all focus will be on the SA2. ๐Ÿ˜“

Also this Friday evening, there will be a Lantern Festival event in the school which is open to all, so do dropby and enjoy the different activities.

                    Cheers,
                    Astee
