      Good morning mmm!

Still scratching my heard very hard to find a suitable maths tuition center for my dd who is pretty careless and a bit slow in grabbing new concept? Any good recommendation ? 😄
I am thinking of jei maths tuition :scratchhead:

Hi, what about Andrew Er???? My kids are still with Enopi.

BTW, saw the maths paper and was   :stompfeet: :frustrated: haha that described all my feelings. Sounds extreme but I told them I will fine them $1 for each careless mistake. So I actually went through his paper and deducted $9. This is to make them feel the pinch that every marks count and every careless mistake cost them $1. So they must be careful.

Hahaaa .. I only briefing go thru my dd maths paper tt day .. Haiz got calculation error and number copy wrongly .... I think I am giving up coaching her myself ... Trying to find a suitable tuition center for her .. I am considering jei maths and heard from this forum tt concept maths at goldhill plaza not bad but timing doesn't suit us 😓

So far so good but they have been in the program for coming to 3 years. It might not be 100% following school syllabus but they get introduce to concepts much earlier and more indepth eg. for division, they are doing 8500/25 or more complex multiplication. Also the centre manager is good as for other problems that they encounter while doing other top school papers (but not part of their level works), she will guide them. But it is those program where you should join early and progress. At certain stage, my personal opinion is that it might not be advisable for the child to join any more as they will be \"disadvantaged\" as during assessment, they might not be good enough and hence have to start at lower level.

My ds has a classmate doing enopi as well. He started last year and heard the boy is last in class and sort of struggled academically. My son is at level 16 but the friend I heard is at level 9. For some perspective, my K2 who started in K1 is now doing level 6.

So far I find that it works on my P4 and I believe ds can make it too. It is not a knowledge gap but rather carelessness which shouldn't have happen.

Yes, the school only teaches higher chinese and it is compulsory.

It is only up to P5 when the child cannot cope, then it is recommended that they do normal chinese.

In mbs, kids from p1 to p4, will be using hcl text bk. When comes to p5, there will have the opt to choose hcl or cl only depend on their chinese results just like other non sap schools .

Do they have to study higher chinese from P1 to P5 (I mean compulsory) ?if they opt to do normal chinese for PSLE , what are the other options(subjects) they can choose for PSLE if they do not take higher chinese ?

Admummy - just to share with you. my colleague actually transferred his daughter (who happened to be my boy’s classmate last year in P3) from MBS to Mee Toh this year as they stay in Punggol. She had to wake up very early to take the school bus and be back home late last year and he found it too tiring for her. The travelling distance is a big issue.

As the kids progress to higher level, they would need to stay back in school for activities, supplementary lessons & CCA etc most of the days and not all days the school bus is able to fetch them, not even when you are willing to pay. Like my mil has to fetch my boy back on Friday afternoon after his CCA as the school bus doesn’t fetch. The school bus only fetch when the entire level is affected, eg. all P6 students stay back for supplementary lessons - so they will fetch.

                      Proximity to school is important.

By the way, it is confirmed that MBS will go single session once it has completed its expansion plan. Construction work will commence in 2 years’ time if i don’t remember wrongly. You may call up the school to confirm.

By the time the expansion project is completed, it is just in time to complete by 2016 (hopefully this is the final date that MOE set for all primary schools to be in one session). By then, our children would be already in the morning session. 7788, do you know how your colleague go about changing the school for her kids, Can share more on this?
