There are centers these days that provide both enrichment and tuition help. Some of them have proficiency tests before entry to determine what your child needs. Look out for those IMO.

What are some of these centres? 😄

My girl is in p5, I missed the on sponge holiday classes last yr, if it’s the heuristic method their using, wouldn’t mathsheuristic at gold hill b equally good?

I cnt decide which holiday class I should let my girl try as she will b in p6 next yr n no time to try out too many centers next yr.

my friends say heuristic questions form only 1% or few percentage of psle paper, so she prefer mainstream tuition that touch on majority type of questions…

My dd is currently with OnSponge for almost a year (started beginning of P5). So far, we are happy with OnSponge as they teach the kids on identifying the correct methods to handle different kind of questions in a faster way. They do not rely strictly on modelling but other methods as well. Ultimately, their aim is to help the kids to use the fastest way to tackle the questions, not forgetting that the kids are competing with time during their exams… Though questions in PSLE do not seems to reflect totally on Heuristics questions, but the kids must know the heuristic methods to solve the questions.

I have only used their p4 asst book. The methods they use are primarily model, units and branch as far as I can see.
