HiThis is the 2009 PSLE Math Q, the Jim and Ken's Q.

Jim ate 12 sweets and Ken ate 18 chocolates. After that, the number of sweet and chocolates Jim had were in the ratio 1:7 and the number of sweets and chocolates Ken had were in the ratio 1:4.

Mei and Lin took part in a cycling race. Mei cycled at a speed of 20km/h. Both of them did not change their speed throughout the race. When Lin reached 1/2 the distance, Mei was 3.5km in front of her. Mei reached the finishing line at 10.45am. What time did Lin reach the finishing line? -

Draw a simple diagram to show the relationships between cyclists.
When Lin completed half the race, Mei was 3.5 km ahead of here.
When Lin completed the race, Mei would be 7km (2*3.5) over the finishing line if she didn’t stop.
7/20*60 ------ 21 min
21 min from 10.45am ------- 11.06am
