A Maltese is also good with kids, but it requires a lot of companionship. If your child doesn't mind having the dog follow her all over all day and wanting to play, then this is a nice dog. I've always wanted a Maltese but my husband loves big dogs. -

Need to brush hair often... but that's part of spending time together? Or you can cut the hair. Maltese dun shed even though long hair. But well... do your own research and consider the others' suggestions too. The maltese is a bad guard dog. Maltese dun have undercoat. Dogs made for temperate climes, like huskies have 2 coats... an undercoat and a top coat. Compared to huskies, Maltese are actually not very resistant to extreme cold.Long Hair And Don't Shed Much ....

Now that you mention it. I wish was my hair too!! -
Poodles donβt shed, or shed minimally. Iβm not sure about their temperament though. They strike me as being a little neurotic.
How about a poodle cross? Like a mini labradoodle (labrador and poodle cross) or a cavoodle (cavalier and poodle cross)? They donβt shed and are really friendly.
