            Hi Zhuge,

My DS applied VS by using his racket sport talent. He has involved in racket sport since P2. He spent average 12 hrs a week to train. Beside the sport achievement, your academic result has to be around 75% for 4 subjects. Through this DSA exercise, I have come to conclusion that beside the academin result, your DS/DD has to be in the top 10 positions in primary school level to stand a chance to be selected. Therefore, JMHO, it is better for parent to focus on DS/DD academic result than using sport talent to try for DSA. For your info - There are about close to 300 kids applied VS 'O' level Sport DSA. Only 23 kids from different sport field got selected.

Top 10 positions in primary school level - the standard may varies in different primary schools.
23 out of 300 kids through Sport DSA - I guess your DS must be a champion in his racket sport to be selected.

:goodpost: Thanks for sharing, Cfdad. The best scenario realistically would be do well academically, get into dream school via results and in any case should be able to make it for the dream sch CCA sports selection trial :nunchuk:. No pressure to excel in that sports and have flexibility to switch CCA. But I guess in kiasu Singapore, if your kid is top 10 in whole of Singapore in his sports, surely you want to chope a seat in dream school 🤷. Ques: if your kid gets CO from dream IP school via CCA sports but his usual school average is >20 marks below the school's past years' average COP, what are your considerations in accepting the CO? Assume no surprise in his PSLE result. Just exchanging views 😄

                    Thanks Zhuge,

As there are 3 components (academics results, GAT and interview) in the selection process, we are not sure on the portions of GAT and interview as the outcome was not revealed. Only the academic portion we can roughly estimate 3 years school results (p4 to p6) must be in the range of ~85%.

Did your DS also DSA to any other schools?

                    Regards.
