My son also said it was a teacher's birthday celebration. In his 6 years of primary school, they've never had a teacher farewell party. So it's not a fair oral. Kids were told that only common, everyday scenarios would be tested..MRT, taxi stand, bus stop, void deck, food court, parks, shopping malls, schools, birthday parties...But teacher's farewell party??? 😞

Haiz. I even brought him to the wet market..just in case.
yes , my daughter forgot and said it was teacher's birthday ! may i know if anyone knows how many marks will be minused for that ? aiyo , its a waste eh ..
I took my PSLE Chinese oral on the second day too. I said Teacher's Day :stupid: , not having a clue what ''huan song'' was, I actually thought it was something like welcome. If your examiner was lenient should have minused about 5 marks. (Chinese teacher told)But, if the examiner was strict, then try to score well for written paper and composition.

Anyways, in my opinion, the score for chinese should be pulled down as many students have misinterpreted the picture. As for the pupils that took oral on the 1st day, they should be scoring slightly higher. 70% of hard work and 30% of luck is needed to score well, apparently lady luck was not on our side.

Life is unfair. Face it.(Still hope MOE will do something about this, though.)

My son is another victim of this oral exam. He can read both words but took it as welcoming new teacher because of the word "huan"

Throughout his primary school years , i’ve never seen him so moody after an oral exam, so i presume it must be quite bad.

So far, have not seen any reply from MOE regarding this, hope they will be more "ren ci", afterall this oral takes up 25% of the chinese marks, which is substantial.

This oral must have shaken the confidence of many young chinese learners.

Sorry to see some kids are still suffering from this oral exam. I hope they can put this aside and concentrate on the upcoming exam. I don't think MOE will reply on this kind of issue. What do we expect them to say?

On the other hand, we should also think of how most of our current students learn chinese. Is it the correct way? The word \"song\" in chinese means give AWAY or send. So it can not be a welcome party or birthday party. I totally agreed that if we compared the 2 oral questions, it was definitely unfair to those who took it the second day. But it might be time for us to think of the way that our kid learns chinese. Do they really understand the SINGLE word? Just my 2 cents. Good luck to all P6 students in the PSLE ! All the best ! :celebrate:

                    And for English composition topics?
                    1. Picture:
A boy at a beach with his class, and his hands were getting pinched by a crab and he was crying. Everyone else looked really shocked.

                    2. Situational:
I was waiting for my mother outside a shop in a shopping centre while I heard a weird noise.

Was the \"huang song wang lao shi\" in the picture in hypy or Chinese characters?
