Is $450 min salary now for all maids regardless of experienc
-
My maid told me that new maids from Philippines are getting $450 with 4 off days!!!
-
Can anyone advise if I want to exchange my 3 months old maid with another maid from the same agency, what will be the procedure? If the new maid has 7 months old, do I pay in advance for her again? Then I would have paid 6+7mth advances. Some more have to pay for additional levy for 1st maid until she finds a new maid?

Depends on if the new maid has any outstanding loans. Even if she has paid off all her loans, it is likely that the agency will charge her some fees for the new placement.
So depending on how much she owes the agency, the agency will offset the balance amt prepaid for your old maid for this new maid. Then you will hv to top up the rest.
Levy is one thing, there is also insurance cover for the new maid.
Changing maid is always costly to employers. -
My maid just renew her contract with me, her current salary before new contract is S$350/-, after October, will be S$450.00, with a off day on every month. If she did not want to take the off day, I have agree to reimburse her for S$20.00

She could be! But she has worked for me for 4 years, so if I want her to continue, I should give her the $450... But she only wants 2 off days, so I think its reasonable.michyms:

hi, michyms
just curious, when your maid continue her contract, did you gave her a extra month bonus. My maid actually ask me the question.
I told her when she transfer to me that time, she actually have 7 month unpaid salary that due to agent, but I help her to waive off 1 month so she can get her salary on the six months, and that is why I am not giving her extra. Beside Chinese New year, Malay New Year, her birthday, and her parent pass away, I gave her roughly s$100.00 for every occasion. I think that is quite reasonable for me as a employer.
Beside this, my maid ask me to re-imburse her air-ticket using Garuda Airline Price as a bench mark, but not tiger air or other budget airline !
Do your maid ask for all this ? -
i just got my Philippines maid (no previous exp) about 1 month ago, her salary is 420 without off day. She will get $400 once her loan is fully paid up, and she gets one off day.
My indon maid that is coming this week will be getting $460 with no off day. She is ex-Singapore. -

I think it's only fair to reimburse them the equivalent of a Garuda ticket - after all sometimes you can buy a Tiger Air ticket for $1!hi, michyms

I think is better to go to a place that has many maid agencies , like bukit timah shopping centre.
