Dunman High School (Junior High)

I’m back after the night race…hehe
DS’s schoolmate has a Chinese teacher who taught his father in DHS decades ago. I like what he said. In the west, it’s ‘think twice’. In the east, it’s ‘think thrice’ 三思而后行。
Btw, all the best to P6 students taking PSLE. -
So many psle 260 and above dropped to the bottom of the cohort in dhs and ri.

Augmum:
Hi studentxxx
Am glad to read yr response in this thread and thanks for yr sharing of yr years of studies in DHS.
as for my gal’s teachers, they are “old” teachers with only 1 new teacher who had joined them in the mid of this yr.
as regard to the trainee teacher, i understand fr her that they ever had one before but
she was accompanied by an experienced teacher for 1 term before the takeover and she teaches well too.....
according to her, her teachers are awesome….....
esp her Maths teacher and her FT.
some teachers even extend consultations to the pupils during the September holidays.
Also heard fr forummer Nightrace that her son’s teachers would offer some coaching at 8 a.m,
while the school official hour starts at 9 a.m on Thursdays.
Yes, we have heard of Mr Nigel Koh,
his popularity spreads amongst the students even he dun teach the lower sec classes.
till date, overall, i have no complaints of DHS teachers,
in addition, i do hear that the senior high teachers are even better.......
yes the teachers are very dedicated
may i know the name of ur gal's maths teacher?

wow...the chinese teacher teaches both father and son
yes, youngsters shd 三思而后行 to avoid any impulsive behaviour.
hmm....talking abt \"night race\"....
now is the period that pupils are having a race with time
yesterday, my gal happened to be still awake at the wee hrs, (she has her usual naps in the afternoon)
interesting to see that there are still pupils online at DHS webmail....

oh.....dun think she feels comfortable if i reveal it here.....anyway, is a male teacherAugmum:

according to her,be it male or female maths teachers,
they are equally good!!!
as seen fr her own class and other classes...... -

fr my observation, pupils with 26X are doing fine......(unless they slack)
but for the borderline pupils at 25X, are having some struggles.....
and those dsaed via sports/talents domain need to work really hard
if they wanna to stay competitive. -
I am actually quite surprise when DS tells me most of his classmates sleep after midnight cos they cant finish their work.
DS stops work daily at 10.30pm and goes to bed at 11.00pm irregardless of exam periods. Is that too early for S2? -
Fat Mama:
fatmama, is yr DS in DHS ??I am actually quite surprise when DS tells me most of his classmates sleep after midnight cos they cant finish their work.

well, is a luxsury to go to bed at 10.30 or 11 p.m
actually, it does depend which class is the pupil in, as the level of homework and the demand fr the teachers do differ.
also, whether the pupils spend time to do more readup/research on topics/given notes. -

Don't worry Fat Mama if your son can maintance his result.....my dd is sec.3 this year, she also quite stress and sometimes revising her works till 1a.m.during weekdays and 3am during weekends..........but not in sec.one or two...........so the higher they go, the more times they need to spend on their studies 'cos more subjects (mostly triple sciences students) to revise.
Augmum, I'm also quite disappointed with that student who said that the school has ruined him.....actually thinking of posting to rebutt him, just to realise that he has deleted his post, maybe he has regretted(?????)....just forgive him lah, hope that he will not post such irresponsible remarks again......as for my dd's teachers, so far so good, some teachers really go to the extra miles to help the students, sometimes dd cannot understand certain topic in class, she will ask the teacher for consultation and most of the time the teacher will arrange time with her after school............ -

yes, the statement given by him is irresponsible......which is doing injustice to both the school and those dedicated teachers.
so far gal's teachers fulfilled all consultations requested by the pupils.
even emails queries are answered promptly.
probably yes, pupil JW has encountered some new and inexperience teachers,
in that case, have no choice, need to work hard on our own self-study.
but we need to look at the overall to be fair........
