Fat Mama:
Of course he makes his own decision so that he cant blame me in future

I am not stressed. Just that I dont want him to be stressed up. I would prefer him to enjoy his schooling days as much as possible and not study all the time.

Its really quite meaningless if our kids have to study all the time. :gloomy:
That's what I think too.......really quite meaningless if our kids have to study all the times but what can we do??????everywhere so competitive, now in school, next will be the working society.......sometimes really no choice, need to have a good certificate to secure a good job........in few years' time maybe a good certificate still not enough......everything is changing......think too much really no use, let them go step by step...........

she is totally on her own now.......
unlike in primary sch where i would do revisions with her.

Augmum,
You misunderstood my qn.
These enrichment lessons are organised by DHS.
Does she enroll in these extra enrichment?
oh fat mama, in this case, yes , she is in one of the enrichment class..... πŸ˜„

ultimateschooler:

So many of them have suffered in dhs due to poor adaptation to the intense character focussed education. No wonder the 270s all dropped tp the bottom. The chinese standard is super. Unless u are bilingual don't dream of doing well or even entering dhs. But if u are among the bests, u will thrive. And many politicians are looking at the dhs character focus platform as the future of Singapore education. As some of you know, their school was the only school that were invited to perform for retiring minister mentor lee Kuan yew a few months back at the parliament. All ministers were present.
Err.......wasn't aware of that....
u mean CO performance ??

oh yes, their chinese std is super :frustrated: :slapshead: :stupid:

Yes she still does.....if next day needs to go to school then she will sleep slightly earlier....otherwise no time limit for her......dd does not take 3rd language 'cos I discouraged her after listening to the principal that most of the pupils would drop due to inadequate time to study, too stressful or losing interest......about 20% of pupils managed to 'endure' till the end.........by the way, I thought 3rd language starts in year 1 right? can start in year 3?????
Taking 3 sci in year 3 is quite tiring, not easy but it's good that our kids are working hard themselves rather than us chasing after them everyday...................realise that most students in these top schools tend to be kiasu a bit.....hahahaha :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
i also discourage her for 3 rd lang, as expected that they would be extremely busy with the tight schedule.
ya, def not easy to take 3 sciences, can expect a MUCH busier yr next yr. :boogie: πŸ˜“

Hi Augmun, yes, P6s are now having their indoor race. Good luck to all!

Bedokid, your DS is playful yet can maintain top 5 position! Wow!

So long as DS can be in top 50% of the DHS cohort, I am happy. Different expectation lah, no need to be Sebastian Vettel.

oh fat mama, are u referring to DHS research programme ??
if so, Yes, she is selected for the SMP (Science mentorship programme). πŸ˜„
Is it the HSSRP?

DS signed up a History topic on his own. It is on Cold War or something. He told me about his interest but I am not sure about his application status :scratchhead:

Hi wk99, an A for language is good. It is not easy to score high for language papers.
Maybe, your Chinese will improve when you are in DHS? You get to attend ACC (Appreciation of Chinese Culture) lessons in SAP schools too. But students in DHS mostly converse in English.

For now, all the best to you in your Chinese paper tomorrow. πŸ˜„ εŠ ζ²Ήγ€‚
