      Hi All,

Just my own sharings 😉 - with so many assessment books in the market, sometimes, one will be overwhelmed and really wanted to grab all(that was me in the beginning of this year when DD1 enters P3 😂 )

But after the CA1 & SA1, I get to speak with her Maths T and knows her weakness in Maths. She knows the concept but when there are more challenging questions appear, she will :scared: ...As such, Maths T advise to give her constant encouragement and reinforce her basic foundation concepts.

Below are the few assessment books I am using with my DD1. Some she does it independently at her own timing and with some I will sit with her, usually in the weekends to guide her

      (1) Longman Practice My Weekly Companion Math
      http://i56.tinypic.com/2uy5b49.jpg\">

      (2) Longman Topical Tests
      http://i51.tinypic.com/4fwxmo.jpg\">

      (3) Must Know Maths Problem Sums
      http://i55.tinypic.com/9vgj6o.jpg\">

      (4) Visible Thinking
      http://i56.tinypic.com/35mgzzt.jpg\">

      (5) SAP CA & SA
      http://i56.tinypic.com/2v2fk46.jpg\">

DD1 has managed to complete (1), (2) & (5) up to the topics that her Maths T has completed. As for (4), I picked randomly for her to work on.

      (3) is \"my baby\" 😉 ..too many problem sums in the assessment books and she is very \"reluctant\" & \"un-co-operative\" to do this one! 😆

Above just my own sharing and in no way am I related to any of the above publishers, authors or whatsoever 😂

OMG, my elder kid didnt managed to finish her only 2 books. I think i have been too lax. I told her next year P3 will have more books already. Must start pushing. haha.

BTW, what do you do with those books not completed?

just wonder with so many assessment books on hand, do your kids manage to get the desired scores for exams?

          Not really, My personal op.
I think the parents buy the assesment books according to their kid's strength and weakness on the subject . some kids are smart they can pick up fast. but mine she needs a lot of practice. slow learner and slow thinker. to keep her in the average score group I need to buy a little more books and practice.

Nop... I am the tutor. Got panicked when she started the model Now I know...so next yr I might go for 2/3 only...

            Plum-cake,
You are amazing and such a dedicated mummy. Out of desperation,
I bought several new assessment because there were tests every 10 weeks to revise 'numbers to 100', 'addition and subtraction within 100' and heuristics. As of now, the only assessment which is close to completion is shaping maths. This Nov/Dec, we will have to revise and strengthen her foundation before P2.

Have you forgotten there is year end holiday ? My kids have to revise for 1-2 hours every June/Dec holiday as they are capable of forgetting their names n school reopens if they play throughout.

Thanks Janet, you are amazing too...
I bought all those books from the recommendation of other parents from this forum. temptation... I found all of them are good assesment books.

I teach her topic by topic, so when I cover one topic, we'll try all/most of the Qs from different assesment books under the same topic. thats how we are able to flip all the assesment books...Fan math is thin and maximum 3Qs/page. so we finished that a bit faster than other books..

This time I have a collection of science books  but I didn't start buying maths yet..I have decided to buy only 2good ones because there is one additional subject ie science :lightrod: and also CCA( she will be p3 next yr)

Yes I also, will start teaching her during Nov/Dec school holidays try to cover the 1st half syllabus... :xedfingers: thats my dream but???

I've also bought several assessment based on recommendations too. As for Math, I've got to be more careful when getting for P2...very frustrating :stupid: when the assessment books don't have sections her teacher has taught. Any good recommendations for heuristics ?? Thanks.
