Lots of kids especially boys will not feel stress about exams and results. not at P6 age.

We should just let them be themselves and just push them when necessary.
No point adding extra stress on them as it's not going to help.

Agree with you totally. Often letting go a little yields surprising results. We took a while to decide whether to bring DS to the Linkin Park concert last Sunday. I am glad we did. He was so thrilled being able to see the band perform up close and thanked us by working extra hard before and after the event without being pushed.

      Wow that's great.
We planned to do that IF DS got a CO but he only has a wait list so we scapped the idea.
Anyway he says Linkin Park is so lame and old already 😆 😆

Just read this quote one of my friends posted on FB :

Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. A. Einstein

Let's all enjoy these precious gifts we have been given - our children - and not let one arbitrary exam make us judge them. We all have our place in life. What is most important is that we teach our children to do our very best in whatever we do - because then the universe will be in synch - and we would have played our part in that.
          Hi vidhyalog,
:goodpost: Thanks for your insightful quote.

Hi hi I'm new in this forum... Enjoyed reading all your post n advises ! I have 2 sons and I realized that boys being boys.. They mature slower than girls in general. Like Ngbrdad mentioned.. They do not know stress very much at this p6 age.. Girls are more mature thus kiasu syndrome all showing. My boys can live daily with just soccer and need the carrot n stick all the time to get academic done. My ds1 only bother to bucked up at the very last min n my ds2 Bo chap at all!

I guess for boys the more u push them the more defiant they get.. So just hv to pray n wait for them to mature soon 🙏

              Hi!

Just like to share, for chinese composition there are 3 parts you can improve on:
              1. 吸引人的开头段
              2. 好词好句
              3. 有内涵的结语 (最后一段)

most students can do pt 1 and 2 if they work hard in memorizing.
for pt 3, you need to brainstorm of the moral u want to tell before you start your composition.
A sample of a good conclusion is
              原来危险并不可怕,害怕面对危险的心理比害怕本身更可怕。

Good luck to all P6 students and parents! 🙂
              Hi linlaoshiclass,
              Thanks for sharing. 😂

Not necessary so. It really depends on the cohort's performance.

@Evalim : please do NOT feel discouraged. The fact that he's from SAP sch may mean that the standard in the school is higher. Your child may surprise you and do better than expected. Just continue to encourage him and not to give up. This is not the time to be resigned to fate. Most important thing is that he has done his best.

Actually I know of people whose kids scored borderline passes at prelims and ended up getting As and Bs at PSLE itself. So, continue to 🙏 and :xedfingers: that he will do well. All the best!! 😉

@Eva, i also agree with schweppes. Dont think too much and worry yrself. You may not know yr ds is a "black horse" he unleashes it at this PSLE. Besides yr ds in Sap school standard is higher. Just 2-3 papers to go, jia you!
