i agree...Conquer Maths is tough. When my boy first attempted, he neary broke down cos he has difficulty doing it...

Who is the publisher for Fabian Ng's book? I am gathering info on which assessment books to buy now...buying them during the coming popular bookstore yr end sale.

      Dino mummy,
Is Conquer Maths available at Popular? Do they have it for lower primary P1 / P2? I'll be buying 1 - 2 assessment books per subject for my P1 going P2 gal next year, and will need to evaluate which books to get.

I dont think so. It is sold in certain school bookshops. Alternatively, you can purchase online.

            Hello Pen88n,
Believe the Conquer Maths is referring to the \"Conquer Problem Sums\" by onSponge?
No, don't think so it is available at Popular Bookstore.
No, it is only available from P3-P6 level.
            Refer to this link:- http://www.onsponge.com/articles/education/107-schooling/294-singapore-maths-book-for-psle-thinkingmath.html

I get my P3 copy from this bookstore in Jurong West:-

This series can only be bought from his tuition centre and there are a few books. Each book cost in the range of $30 to $40+. He teaches a new method known as Unit Transfer Method (UTM) that is different from what is taught in schools. Kids at his centre learned this UTM which he claimed will solve 99% of the Maths problem sums.

I've seen a copy of his books before, but have not proceeded to use the UTM so I cannot verify this method at all. My take is that it needs more practice to be able to use this method effectively. DS has not learned this and has been using model + ratio + algebra to solve most problems without issue.

Thanks, Champ. I've these books for upper pri - really good for building strong foundation on those \"fraction / percentage / ratio / algebra / model\" type of problem sums. I suppose when my DD reaches P3 / P4, I'll get the P3 and P4 series then.

                      hi all

i brought the conquer maths from my boy’s school bookshop. it is a "must" for his class. I understand the book is used for the best 2 classes in Pri 3. They used it as part of the lessons. I am not good in maths but i find it v difficult. My hubby is the maths tutor for my boy said that the book is more for stimulating the kids to think…
My colleague bought this via their website and they charge a delivery fee…can’t remb how much but I remb it is not a big sum.

                        Hi Mummies,

My son has 2 Math assessment which are real killers.
One is the Onsponge which his teacher asked the class to get...saw it at school bookshop when I bought his new books. The other one was recommended by my friend...title is \"Challenging Maths Problems Made Easy\" by Ammiel Wan. This is sold at Popular. Orangey cover, published by Marshall Cavendish.
