Marriage Proposal - How was yours?

glendt:
I love reading all your proposal stories. Mine was not that romantic. He already hinted about getting a flat so I knew. But on the actual proposal day, he asked me if I wanted a coke when I went to his place. I said no as I was not thirsty and he kept saying maybe I would want one later, in the end to stop him from 'bugging' me, i agreed, when I drank the coke, at the bottom of the glass was an ice-cube. I realized there was something in the ice-cube and when I took it out, there was a diamond ring inside. I kept laughing and asked him what if I just refused to have any drink but I was also touched that he bothered to plan a nice proposal and take me out for a nice dinner after that.
poor guy, already nervous like anything, still could not convince you to have a drink.
maybe he should have arranged for some physical activities before hand, like jogging, tennis, etc
thanks for sharing

your proposals are so sweet and romantic!
mine was .... hehehehe... we were watching television on the bed and then he walked out and returned to the room, jumped on the bed and said \"Nah!\"
hahahaha.. but he did ask me the question.

Now thinking back, my hubby really quite nervous that day. Reading all the posts brought back memories of my proposal which come to think of it was in its funny way quite heart-warming.

On our 2nd mth dating anniversary, dh suggested for a fishing trip at Labrador park. He picked me up after work all ready for the planned outing with fishing rod, a pail and some other stuff. As I had never fish before, he told me the baits are live worms and he kept them in the pail (covered). He knew I won't dare open it up as I'm afraid of the worms.
When we reached the park, found a spot to fish, he said he left his bottled water in the car and asked me to get it while he set up his fishing gears.. When I'm back, everything was ready n we jus need to wait for our fish to come..
Bout 5 mins later, dh said his tummy is upset n need a toilet break.. He den called my mobile n said he's not done yet.. Asked if there any sign of a catch... Told him nothing happened.. He asked me to bring e line up as the bait might be gone. I did as told.. But wat I pulled up was a ice mountain bottle instead..
A note was in the bottle.. I opened it up and it says : will you marry me? Ps: open the pail...
I opened the pail and saw a bouquet of roses with the ring in the middle instead of live worms! While I'm still in shock, dh appeared out of the blue, took the ring n when down on 1 knee asking the same question again...

Tats how I got cheated!!! Lol
Dh was a super duper romantic bf den.. Now.. Is still r.. But r for realistic! -

Nowadays, when his friends or relatives asked him how he proposed, he'll say \"ε¨εΊδΈη½\"

Reading all these posts make me jealous with envy leh....
Mine was the \"flat application\" type... so unromantic hor :slapshead:
No diamond ring, no flowers, no kneeling ..... :stompfeet:
on ROM day, reminded him to get me flowers and yet on that day itself, he got the cheat to ask my bro to get it for him coz he dunno where to buy? :stupid: Nevermind that.... give me the roses with plastic wrap still around the rose buds
Many years down the road....
He slipped on the stairs and lost The Wedding Ring. He felt bad about it and decided to get another one. Bought it somewhere at White Sands I think. With DD1 beside me, he pulled me to the side of the shopping mall and put the new ring on my finger just like the time at ROM. That part, I do feel some romantic feeling thot
Another couple of years down the road...
FINALLY, he bought me a diamond ring on my bday :rahrah:
I guess good things have to wait. He might not have been romantic at the start but I guess somewhere down the road that we travelled together, he has chosen to appreciate me more  -
Aaw...that's really sweet of your hubby
