Paging for P1 parents…MA4 is just around the corner again. I just want to seek confirmation on a particular thing relating to the math test.
We know they will be tested on multiplication and division - there is even a time-table sheet in their homework file for them to learn/memorize. My girl told me that they will only be tested on time-tables 2,3,5 and 10 which are supposedly easier. The rest will be learn in P2 onwards? Any parents hear likewise from your kids? Thanks.

hotspurs:
Not sure on how to coach my kid on Maths for MA4 as I scanned thru the format for multiplication and division topics and it is stated that multiplication up to 40 (or is it 20, not sure on tis) so does it mean we need to try all the alternatives of multiplication to make up to 40 (maximum) so for time tables of 6 for example, we need to learn 6 x 1, 6 x 2, 6 x3, ..... up to 6 x 6 which is equals to 36 and ignore 6 x 7 as its equals to 42 which exceeeds the max for the multiplication???? What about division, how is it tested? Really needs clarification on the topics tested as its really tough to teach the school work now that there is no specific topics or chapters to follow fully....... And my child's class did not receive the time table sheet. hotsupurs, care to share? My child's class is starting the show and tell this week as per their teacher's information to them last week. sigh..... hope my child can do well....... as not enough preparation done. Anyone one can share about the format for the chinese oral this time round? Do the kids have to greet the teacher or intro themselves first before the chinese oral or their english show and tell???Paging for P1 parents...MA4 is just around the corner again. Hi marmum,
I was nt sure abt the Chinese oral format too so I email my gal’s Chinese teacher and he replied that they will nt be tested on Chinese oral this term as term 3 the kids were tested on their 我最愛吃的水果 and that’s their oral.
U cn email ur child’s Chinese teacher to double confirm. -
Hi georgi_cch, thanks for the info. Am a bit puzzled here then. Why did the school handouts for term 4 shows that for AA2, there is EL & CL Oral from 10th to 14th Oct.???
-
Ya. That’s wat I am puzzled abt too so email teacher.
Didnt get any format for MA4 for any subjects either. Usually there’s a letter to tells us the weightage and wat will b tested for English and Chinese.
Any mummy rec’d any info? -
Like georgi_cch, I have also not received any notification on the weightages of the topics etc e.g. like what marmum mention that multiplication/division will be tested up to 40 only???
Responding to marmum, the time-table sheet is just a simple A4 sheet listing time-tables 2 to 10, but my girl arguing that they will only be tested 2,3,5 and 10!
sometime quite frustrated at these inconsistencies. -
Hi! Anyone with kids in the upper primary levels? I am contemplating to transfer my kid to Peichun and I wish to find out if the upper primary level teachers there are competent. Are there many supplementary classes?
