Some of his friends also put 取代, so not sure which should be the correct ans.

取代 sounds all right too. However, there is 距离 in the sentence, thus I think cannot. 缩短距离(sounds correct) 取代距离(sounds wrong).

Anyway, tell your child not to worry so much on the exams that were over and focus on his/her science revision! Gd luck! Jia you!! :rahrah: :rahrah:

But IMHO 两个朋友之间不愉快的心情 doesn't sound right in Chinese in the first place.

I agree with u, Ngbrdad! Sentence sounds awkward. But we can only hear from the kids' mouths based on their memory. So too early to comment. But if sentence is as per what they say, then it is tricky. Thought it should only be 两个朋友之间的不愉快。just my humble opinion ..[/quote]

then should be 改变. IMO the subject in these 2 sentences are different. One is the 不愉快(unhappiness), the other is 心情(the mood).

IMHO in this contact there must be an improvement in the situation.
改变 just means change but there may not be an improvement.
Whereas with 消除 definitely the 不愉快的心情 has gone.
Somehow just feel that that's how MOE people think :imcool:

If as predicted, the T score comes down with relatively easy papers this year, it may put those with COs but not to their dream school in a dilemma.
