Dear Chief Kiasu, Mums & Dads


My boy is due for his P1 registration this month. I have second thoughts whether to register him at West Grove or Xingnan (I’m a PV at West Grove). I missed the open house for Xingnan on 28 June.

Can anyone give my any information on the above 2 schools?

Yes we are PV at West Grove. Just started on 1 July this year. My girl enters P1 in 2010.

What is happening this Thursday ?

We are battling between Lakeside or Shuqun since we are residing at Taman Jurong.

Is there any other good schools that I can consider (apart from Rulang which we were unsuccessful as PV) ?

Hi Hermie,

Shuqun is a more popular school than Lakeside. In the last 3 registration exercises, balloting is required for those staying 1-2km, and anyone beyond that zone is out of contention. You have missed the PV deadline in 1 July (pretty standard for all Government schools), so you should go for Shuqun only if you are staying within 1km, otherwise you will have to ballot in Phase 2C.

May I know more abt PV deadline? I am quite clueless on P1 registration information...althought my one is Y2005 kids, but I need to find out more information so that I won't \"kalang kabuk\" when the time come. vy

For 2005 kid, deadline is Jul 2010. But u can start writing in from Nov/Dec 2009 as some schools start their PV intake earlier.
