I see a science lesson in this. You can explain to him why yeast helps the dough to rise, the reaction between sugar and yeast etc...
Yes, there's is but think I will need to prepare it separately. The window is to small on the machine to enable my kids to view process clearly.

I will have to make a small dough manually so that they can experience it better πŸ˜‰ One of the activities during hols to keep me sane.

Did you use the pizza dough recipe from the Z manual? May just be tempted to try.

Yup, used their recipe. Simple and it works πŸ˜„

        thanks. πŸ˜„

            Village Girl:

Can i ask, if i want to bake bread from the oven instead, do i just select dough function from the breadmaker? Once it is done, i just put it in oven? Do i need to proof it further?

L-earner: the bread looks so soft n fluffy. nice. may i know what bread tray you used to bake the bread?

            After dough function,
            1) Round and Floor (set aside) 5-10mins
            2) Cut and shape
            3) let proof till double its size
*4) Preheat oven and bake at 200 C for 25mins for whole loaf bread ~400-500g loaf. For small buns, bake at 190 C for 12-15 mins
            * This is just a guide as oven heat varies.

L-earner shape in small buns than place side by side in loaf pan so it can pull apart when done.

Thanks dalaso. This is really helpful.

              Haiji Bread Buns

I used the Haiji White Bread Recipe (fm Cosybake), tweak it with the addition of raisins and extra 50g of wholemeal flour (i need to fill my round pan), i didnt increase the liquid part though, it still turned out good. Here'r the pics :

                    Hi mummy-s and Uncle Trap,

This forum is a treasure-trove. Like Uncle Trap, I’m seriously thinking of getting a bread machine and making my own bread coz its almost impossible to get the kind of bread we all like, plus when in the mood, my kids polish off 3 loaves (full-size) within the school week - and they are 9,7 and 5 respectively!

Probably, more nutritious and with less preservatives too!

Any good suggestion on bread machines besides the Mini Z?

                    Thanks in advance!

                      Andaiz,

Most of us bought the z. It's compact.

However, you may want to check out Severin, which is another popular brand.

Trust me, the breadmachine is a worthwhile investment :imcool:
