My family loved the museums in London. You should visit the British Museum. Check the weblink for more ideas for visits with children. My DS loved Madame Tussauds Museum too.

We will be on biz class for the NZ trip in Dec, so we don't expect any problem. Having said that, we went to Barcelona when my daughter was 3.5 year old. The flight was 13 hours and we were on economy then. She did not have any problem. She is a good traveller and sleeps well after being given motion sickness medication.
do you guys go on Economy class ? I am not sure if the kids can actually sit on the Economy seats for more than 10hr.
I thought of going to Zurich in Dec, but its going to be too cold, How about London ? Is it better weather there ?
My boys have even been on longer flights. We flew direct to New York on economy one way and biz class on the return leg when our boys were 8 and 10. The flight was close to 18 hours non-stop and they were well entertained on SQ and time flew by. They did not have problems on the Econ sector. So really, it depends on your kids. I do credit SQ for the excellent inflight entertainment which is a great plus. -
when we traveled biz class with young kids, we got stared at (they are well behaved) ⦠and worse the kids only request for instant noodles, served in nice china

Verykiasu2010,
On our way back from NY to SG, we were in the biz check in queue which was pretty long as the flight then was half biz and half Econ. A rich indon tai tai came along, saw us with kids and the queue and went to ask the SQ staff why they allowed Econ pax to be in the biz line. You should have seen her look when she was told that we were all on biz and she had to wait behind us!
And I agree with you. Our kids will probably ask for instant noodles in between their video games on our daytime flight back. We hope that they will sleep on the way there since the seats are more comfy. DH and I sure want to sleep! -

These days more and more people are travelling biz class with their kids. You only need to look at the number of kids in the biz and first class lounges before a flight.

Not just kids. Sometimes adults like a maggi mee served with condiments in fine chinaware in biz class too
Especially if you're flying back to singapore after a few weeks in angmo country.

EVERYTHING is closed on Christmas Day in London. And Christmas Eve dinners have to be booked in advance. So if you're staying in an apartment, you might be better off cooking some dinner for yourself. If everything is closed on Xmas eve and on Xmas, then what do we do ? Just stay in hotel ?

I don't think it matters to kids if they're flying economy or business. It's the adults who'll get really grouchy having to deal with the kids in the cramped seats.

You are right about more travelling biz class with their family. Always so full these days. For us, we only get to fly biz class for our coming trip because we managed to redeem 5 upgrade tickets!
