Thanks, mummies. Guess we have to constantly remind her to eat more, somemore she eats selectively at times, sigh…she skips veges, steamed meat and prefers those $1 plus bun from bakery, instead of those one-pack white bread (we provide jam, butter but she ignores them, sigh).

Her main job is to do household, but come next year when my son goes kindy, he will be in house for whole pm and I have plans for her to read to him and go through simple dot exercises with him…sigh, guess I am too demanding…

peapot, does not know how to cook rice, my god! guess you must have spent lots of time training her then…

          HI vivienpg,

guess all maids r afraid to put on weight…i just sent my 2+ mths old maid back to agent she do not want to look after children thus changed an ex-hongkong. the previous also do not eat much will always eat cold leftover food in the fridge which i instructed her to warm the food but she refused. this new maid is much far better… cooking wise hve not tried but loves kids…she told me tat her ex-employer had asked her to work for her but maid told me that working in HK cannot save $$$ they have to be out of the hse during weekend at their own cost and during PH, they have to stay in hotel (of course at their own cost) thus v hard to save $$$. she prefer to work in SIN…but why was it tat i read in papers that maids r flocking to HK / Taiwan n SIN are lacking of Indo maid… guess mayb its the experienced 1 that r flocking over…my previous maid of 7 yrs is now in Taiwan n she regretted her decision and wish to return to SIN after her 3 yr contract…

btw, my kids like this new maid…on the very 1st day, i asked them to self introduce themselves to the maid, the maid response with quick n alert tone to them n my girls whisper to my ears that they like this new maid…can kids really tell the difference? i wonder;)

              hi peace charlie,

Glad you found a good helper. My ex maids all didn't like to eat leftover foods. when we have dishes left over (rarely), I find that only the family eat the leftover, the maid will quietly avoid that like the plague. Find them a bit good life, but never mind lah. small matter. 😛

maybe it depend on whose leftover food was kept.

i wouldnt like to eat leftover food knowing that everyone digs his spoon or chopsticks into the dishes. it is like eating someone else saliva.

even with serving spoon used, some people also dont like.

oh, I thought you had her for a while already. Impt is that your kids like her and can bond. I think it’s positive that she had experience in foreign country.

My usual agent always tell me to look for one with overseas experience (experienced culture shock before) and good educational qualification (show brain not too bad).

Think positive and hope for best. 🙂

Agree, I also don't like all the food mixed up together like maybe can find veg in the fish dish.

We use serving spoons lah, but she will quietly avoid those dishes that were kept in the fridge overnight.
