      Hi Maple Leaf

Thanks for the feedback. Hmmm... I guesd putting bags on the floor would mean it gets dirty quite easily. I got the fabric type version so will be hard to clean! Should have gotten the patent or vinyl ones.

I also realised that stealing is pretty common in pri schools ( dont think its just BTPS, right?) so it's best not to get expensive stuff. And since bottles are placed outside, it's even for inviting for kids to snatch!

I guess lockers are for the kids to put their misc stuff and books they dont meed to bring home right? Think better ask all these queries on Orientation day!

I have not bought a schoolbag for DS yet. But I've been hearing so much about SPI bag. May I kow how much is it and what is so good about the bag? I'm not sure if I should get him one that's durable or something he likes (not necessarily durable) so that he can have something new every year - a so-called incentive (?)

Been reading alot about the SPI bag on this forum so when it was on sale in June I decided to buy it. Supposed to be good for kids' posture. Some moms said it lasted 2-3 years! The size is also just right for my gal as she is skinny and small-sized. I tried other bags like the Hello Kitty range but they were just too big for her.

Think the SPI bag is about $100+ but I got mine at about $70+. The sale is usually during the school hols, mainly June and December I think.

At beginning of the term, the time table not fixed, DS has to bring lot's of books and the SPI bgg was super-heavy. I also have a trouble lifting it up. Only last term, then the the FT let them put more bools in the locker, and the load lightened to 1 to 2 books.

But on days when he need to bring back thick files, it becomes heavy again.
Maybe the fabric tyoe is better.

Anyway, he said that sone of his classmates got those schoolbags with wheels and it is easier to \"pull\" the bag from schoolbus to Arena. I explained to him that it is difficult to drag this kind of bag up the stairways when his is promoted to classroom upstaair next year. He replied that got lift lah..Oops.. I haven't been to his school b4 ...
Not sure if all students are allowed to use the lift.

Fotunately, his bag is not so much stuffs these days

Hi, although there is lift, students are not allowed to use them unless they obtain prior permission from the teachers.
So, you may have to take that into consideration when choosing the bag for your child.

The lift is only for teachers and their helpers (ie help teachers carry books and boxes). Not for students' daily use.

I do find the schoolbag extremely heavy. It could also be that the kids do not know which books they can leave at home/in lockers. P1 kids are still very \"blur\". 😂

Can I also check if P1 kids in BTPS use any of those Chinese digital dictionary?

Been thinking of getting one as my Chinese is hopeless and I also wanna help my soon to be P1 girl. I heard some schools use them, right? And the schools also use certain brands too right?

                    Hi,

My son has been registered in BTPS 2012. As we stay in the Farrer Park estate, which is outside of 5km from the school, the school bus could not take my son. Any parents who stays in Newton, Novena, Kampong Java interested in car pool arrangement?

Is indeed far. We were within 1km of our choice school for him but we were balloted out. Sigh..

And we did not want to put him in just any school around our neighborhood and thus BTPS. We are really hoping to find parents that we can car pool with.

My boy will be in Compassion. 🙂
