i am not sure abt the GPA for top 50%, perchaps other mummies here can provide u with the info.
btw, are u aware of the grading system for the raw marks??
shall post here for yr reference ......
A+ ---> GPA 4.0 for 80 and above
A ---> GPA of 3.6 for 70 - 79
B ---> GPA of 2.8 for 60 – 69
C ---> GPA of 2.0 for 50 – 59
hope it helps !![/quote]
For Y1/2010, GPA was 3.0 or more to be in top 50% in overall results.
The computation method isn't very fair. Son suay suay had two subjects with x9 marks. You see a jump with a difference of one mark. :scared: -
Augmum:
Thanks, helpful Augmum. Shall wait for further info. from the school. Meanwhile, enjoy post-exams activities
i checked with gal again, she told me likely on 28 Oct (last day of sch)Nightrace:
Exactly on which day do we decide on subject-combi to take?
but i dunno if her info is correct ......

Hi Nigthrace,
Agreed with you the GPA computation is not fair. I think we should follow River Valley's GPA computation:-
75 and above = A1 = 4.0
70-74 = A2 = 3.5
65-69 = B3 = 3.0
60-64 = B4 = 2.5
and so on.
Dont you think so? -
Nightrace:
i also guess so that it must be at least GPA of 3.0 to be in the top 50%.

Yes, i have been saying that DHS GPA computation method isn' t fair,
have been complaining in this thread.....
How come there is a disproportion drop in GPA from grade A to B or from grade B to C ??
And only 80 and above can get a GPA of 4 .0 . -

Yes Jieting, i like RV GPA grading system, the drop is porportion unlike DHS…
And it is much easier to get 75 than to get 80 ( how many pupils in a class can get 80 and above ??)
I heard gal said they wanna to " penalise" pupils getting a B…" evil" right ?? -
Hi Augmum,
Ya, so "evil".
My dd ever scored 69.5 for History. She was very unhappy cos if she cn score another 0.5 mark then her GPA fot that subject will be 3.6 and not 2.8.
Anyone kn why DHS’s GPA compute in this way? -
JieTing:
Feeling aggrieved right? Lower in total GPA does not mean lesser in total marks. :rant:
