Just imagine those couples who only meet in their 30's but already hit the cap do they have to resort to resale???
Resale better, can choose any location you like, preferably near good schools

And older flats are bigger. I've personally never lived in/bought a new flat before. My parents only bought a new flat in the 1970/80s. After that, all our moves are into resale flats.MMM:

You thinking of moving house, Titank?
-
Trying to get one of the soon-to-be-released 7000 units?
-
You just managed to get your son into RMPS. Moving house already?
Actually, looking at the current market, is it the right time to buy? Or is there no such thing as "right" time? -

Me trying the Oct release. this round, they restrict applicants to one chosen location only. For Apr 09's sale, we can just apply and pick whichever remaining so long we have the chance to pick.
hope they can release more BTOs at matured estates in the West. -
only commission-based; or if your combined income is $400-600 above $8k, then can appeal.
I had had numerous correspondence with HDB regarding other issues and am clear how sticky they can be as their priority is to cater to the lower income by providing subsidized public housing.
those who had met in their mid 30s and already combine income >$8k, too bad. go for resale; can only get bank loan; if working adults, surely with combine income >$8k, the cpf accumulation will be high to pay for part of the housing; the cov is the tricky part, but it is seller’s market now; if one don’t choose the expensive central location or near to MRT/mall which cost more than half a million for a HDB, one can still find affordable public housing; just don’t be choosy. -
Hi QMS,
Ha.ha consider to move most likley to be in the Bt Merah area as the DS already in RMPS. I don't think to search the house near a good school is important now. Look at Bt Merah, Tiong Bahru, Redhill, don't think there is really good school in these areas.
New Flat
If get new flat, have to pay levy if I sold off my current flat. On top of that still 5% have to be in cash. Have to take bank loan as most likely I'm doing a downgrading.
Resale Flat
Think this option not possible. have to pay cash on top of the valuation.5% cash in the valuation price.pay agent commission $$. Then renovation also $$. Wow so much $$ where to find. :stupid:
Any good advise to share? -

on top of it all, it is not easy to get a new flat at all (or any flat directly from HDB)!!! all those balloting...have to be really really lucky to get a good queue number!
